From the root cause, in today's industrialized social labor assessment system, the value of family labor is not recognized, and child-rearing, as a socialized labor that cultivates labor for society, has become the opportunity cost of family burdens, which is the fundamental reason for the decline in women's fertility. With the employment pressure brought about by technological progress and the increase in family working hours occupied by the elderly population, the working hours of families raising children are further squeezed, and the result will lead to a sustained decline in female fertility.
As the elderly population grows, the vulnerability of human social systems will gradually increase, the ability to cope with external systemic risks will decline, and as the female fertility rate falls below 2.1, the global population will lose the ability to grow naturally.
Before the value assessment of family work is included in the socialized labor assessment system, through policies, laws and other human means (childbirth subsidies, delayed retirement, etc.), it can only alleviate the negative impact of the problem of the elderly population on the social system, but it cannot eradicate many negative effects.
Social system change is a complex and lengthy process, and the process of integrating family labor into the socialized labor evaluation system is also destined to be a long process.
