Guangqi Honda, which has been lacking heavyweight models in the compact car market, finally ushered in the model at the end of 2021, in addition to the same name as the classic performance car, the model also stepped out of the unique sporty route with a more aggressive design and a rare 6MT transmission in the same class, successfully sucking countless fans. Orders have exceeded 10,000 units in the two weeks of listing, showing the true color of dark horses. According to the data of the vehicle quality network, as of January 31, 2022, Guangqi Honda has not complained since its listing, and the short-term quality reputation performance is worthy of recognition. In the future, can the car continue the existing quality reputation performance? Will there be some new problems that are difficult for ordinary consumers to discover? This issue of "New Car Commodity Evaluation" will break through the fog for you, and restore a real Guangqi Honda style through the two dimensions of objective data and subjective feelings.
1. Objective data
This project mainly shows the performance of the new car in terms of commerciality in the form of objective data through field tests of 12 items such as body technology, paint film level, interior air quality, noise from the car, static vibration in the car, parking radar and lighting/vision.
In the body process testing session, a total of 10 key parts of the vehicle are selected, and 3 key points are selected for measurement in each key part to evaluate the uniformity of the gaps in each key part. Judging from the test results, although the gap value of most parts of the type is relatively high, the overall uniformity is good. Among them, the average data of the gap data between the engine hatch and the front fender, the trunk and the left and right sides of the rear fender are completely consistent. However, due to the obvious high value of the individual gaps between the trunk and the right rear fender, it had a certain impact on the final test results.
In the test of the paint film level, through the test results, it can be found that the average thickness of the paint film of the model car is about 143.7 μm, which reaches the standard value of the advanced car (120 μm -150 μm). Judging from the test data of each key part, the value of the vast majority of test points is greater than 120 μm, and the value of individual test points is even higher than 150 μm, which exceeds the standard value of advanced vehicles, and the overall paint spray thickness is worth affirming. However, during the test, the expert jury found that the value of individual test points at the top of the car was less than 120 μm, and the difference in the thickness of the paint film in the rear door part reached more than 46 μm, reflecting that the uniformity of the paint film spraying still needs to be improved.
In the in-vehicle air quality testing link, the vehicle is placed in the internal ground parking lot with fewer vehicles, formaldehyde is not detected in the measured model of the car, and the content of inhalable particulate matter such as PM2.5 is relatively low, which is in line with the relevant standards in the "Guidelines for Air Quality Evaluation in Passenger Vehicles" (National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 27630-2011) jointly issued by the former Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine since March 1, 2012.
In the static noise test, the quietness of the model in the car in the static state is good, and the test score has been reduced to the minimum value of the test instrument 30dB, which can almost be isolated from the external environment. With the start of the engine, the noise value in the incoming car shows a gradual increase trend, the engine at 3000 rpm, the noise value in the incoming car is 59dB, and it is still in the range of weak impact on the human body from the numerical point of view alone, but compared with the same level of models tested, the noise value is significantly higher. Compared with the noise values in the following different environments, the type performs well for engine noise suppression, and it will hardly cause nuisance to the drivers and occupants in the car under the working state.
In the air conditioning noise test, the test instrument is placed at a position of about 10cm from the air conditioner outlet, and then the air conditioning air volume is adjusted from small to large, and the noise value of the driver's position in different gears is measured. After actual measurement, the air conditioner adjustment of the type is divided into 7 gears, and the measured noise value is 62.5dB when the highest grade is opened, which is still within the range that the human body can tolerate and will not cause too much nuisance to the driver and passengers.
After actual measurement, in the idle state, the type frame has relatively limited vibration suppression for the engine into the car, and the test data of the steering wheel is slightly lower than that of the front and rear seats. Under load, the test data at the steering wheel is significantly increased, the body feeling is more obvious, and the test data of the front and rear seats in the two states is always relatively close, but the test values are generally high, and the performance is poor compared with the same level of models tested.
In addition, we tested parking radar, lights/vision, control systems, tire hubs, sunroofs, seats, and trunks. After testing, the overall performance of the model has reached the normal level of the same class, with the tires and trunk performing particularly well. The test model was equipped with Dunlop high-performance tires with an innovative nanoscale design for excellent stability, while the tire width and flat ratio were reasonable, allowing for a perfect balance of handling and comfort. The trunk opening is of moderate length and width, the interior shape is also very regular, and the rear seats are designed to put down the handle, which makes it easier to expand the space. Relatively speaking, the seat and visual field performance is not good, mainly due to the short length of the rear seat cushions, insufficient support for the legs, and fatigue is easy to occur after a long ride. In addition, the rear field of view has a closest distance of 2523cm, ranking lower in the same class of models tested, and there is a large blind spot in the rear field of vision. It should be noted that since the test model did not provide radar, a score of 0 is temporarily given in the parking radar score.
Second, subjective feelings
The project was subjectively evaluated by a number of reviewers on the actual performance of the new car in terms of static and dynamics. Among them, the static aspect includes four parts: exterior, interior, space and human-computer interaction; the dynamic aspect includes acceleration, braking, steering, driving experience and driving safety. Finally, the total score is given with reference to the subjective evaluation opinions given by the judges, so as to reflect the actual performance of the new car in terms of commerciality from the perspective of subjective feelings.
In the external perception evaluation, the overall performance of the model was in line with expectations, especially in terms of lighting systems and engine compartment materials, which were unanimously affirmed by the expert jury. The test model is equipped with full LED headlights, the internal structure is reasonable, the daytime running lights and turn signals are arranged separately, and they do not affect each other when they are turned on, and the function provides adaptive near and far light, automatic headlights and steering auxiliary lights. The components in the engine compartment are arranged in a regular manner, most of the component units are equipped with plastic plates for protection, and the rubber sleeve and tape are sufficient. However, the mechanical keyhole of the type is hidden inside the door handle, and if the smart key fails, it is more troublesome to use.
In the internal feeling evaluation, the overall design of the type is unified with the current mainstream simple and practical style, the layout of each functional area is reasonable, and the center console retains a large number of physical buttons and knobs to facilitate operation during driving. In terms of materials and process, the middle of the dashboard adopts a honeycomb grid decoration through the style, and embedded hidden air conditioning outlet and adjustment lever, which combines design and functionality.
The model provides 4 charging interfaces, unified into USB Type-A specifications, and the layout is reasonable, which is more convenient for daily use. The front center armrest cannot be moved, but due to its considerable length, it can provide sufficient support for the driver's elbow.
In terms of seating space, the type is limited by the standard compact car size, and the overall performance is decent, but the rear roof is more spacious due to the obvious concave design, and the head space is more generous, and it will not feel depressed when riding. In terms of storage space, although the number of compartments is not dominant, but the practicality is satisfactory, the four door handles are designed with a back cover, which can be used as a storage compartment, and the central armrest box provides a movable storage box to facilitate the storage of small items such as change.
Although the resolution of the 9-inch multimedia display is not high, the display clarity is acceptable, and the UI design is also mainly practical style, and the function button size is large, which is easy to operate. The screen is equipped with the latest Honda CONNECT 3.0 intelligent guidance interconnection system, which increases the remote control of mobile phones, high-end functions such as car home interconnection, and optimizes the intelligent speech system, which has improved the recognition ability of dialects and fuzzy semantics, but the functions that can be controlled through speech are limited, and only software-level functions such as volume can be adjusted, and hardware facilities such as skylights cannot be controlled.
The entire series is equipped with a 1.5T high-power turbocharged engine code-named L15C9, with a maximum power of 182 hp and a peak torque of 243 Nm? m, the test model is equipped with a CVT gearbox. The whole powertrain is still mainly for the home, so there is no excessive pursuit of extreme performance in tuning, and daily driving is easy enough but not aggressive.
The type provides two driving modes of economy and sports, in actual experience, the power performance of the vehicle in the two modes is completely different, the economic mode throttle is relatively lazy, and the sport mode engine speed will always be maintained in a relatively high range, while the throttle response is also more sensitive, and the acceleration is more enjoyable.
In terms of braking performance, the type continues the consistent style of Japanese cars, the brake pedal is slightly vacant at the beginning, and more sufficient braking power can be obtained by continuously stepping down, and the actual braking performance is remarkable.
The whole series of models comes standard with a variable steering ratio, the steering wheel strength can be dynamically adjusted according to the speed of the vehicle in real time, and the number of steering wheel turns is significantly less than other models, which is easier to operate, but the electronic flavor is relatively strong.
The chassis part adopts the combination of independent suspension of the front McPherson and the rear multi-link, and the overall adjustment is biased towards comfort, and the treatment of road bumps is relatively crisp and clean. However, the chassis sound insulation performance is relatively average, and due to the use of sports tires, obvious tire noise can be heard in the car during driving.
The high-end model is equipped with Honda SENSING safety super sense system, adds a new traffic congestion assistance system, and cooperates with ACC active cruise control system to achieve intelligent follow-up in the full speed domain. In the actual experience, the following distance and response speed are excellent, and there will be no sharp acceleration or sharp braking. The lane center function can assist the vehicle to turn on its own according to the lane change, and when the vehicle deviates from the driving lane, the system will issue an audible prompt and actively correct the steering wheel.

At the objective data level, the overall spray thickness of the paint film is excellent, but the seam process and spray uniformity of individual parts need to be improved. In addition, there is room for optimization in terms of the length of the rear seat cushions and the field of view. At the subjective level, the static and dynamic experience of the type is good overall, but the convenience of mechanical key use and intelligent voice interaction still need to be improved. On the whole, the commercial performance of the model is at a medium level among the same class models that have been tested.
