In his early years, Zhu Xi originally admired Daoqian Zen Master, a disciple of Dahui Zonggao, and it is said that when he took the local examination, he did not bring any reference materials, only a copy of the "Quotations of Dahui Zonggao", and the result was excellent results. Nevertheless, Zhu Xi was later persuaded by the great Confucian Li Tong to return to the Confucian sage learning. This is almost the common mental process of Song Ming theorists: after many years of going in and out of the old man, he has found out the bottom of the family, and then he began to attack the heresy of the people.
However, in his time, Confucianism was indeed "snubbed in the doorway." In order to compete for cultural orthodoxy, Zhu Xi had to make a harsh criticism of the Shi Lao Er Sect. He focused on Buddhism, saying that although Taoism and Taoism are heretical, the harm is still small, and only Zen studies are "pervasive and monstrous", and it is impossible not to suppress them. In addition, the original Buddhist works were only the "Twenty-Four Chapters Sutra", this book is not only small, only one volume, but also the content of the lecture is crude and shallow, Buddhism was not accepted by Chinese civilization at first after the introduction of the Han Dynasty, but after the Wei and Jin dynasties, it became more and more prosperous, which is inseparable from the compilation and annotation of it by the literati and ethnic classes of the mainland, nor can it be separated from its plagiarism of Taoism.

For example, the children of the giant room, all the treasures are stolen by people, but they go to clean up the people's broken cauldrons. ”
Zhu Xi means that Buddhism is "eclectic", stealing Lao Tzu and then stealing Zhuangzi. "Lao Tzu sang first, and then the Buddha did a lot of work, but he studied many of his languages." It can be said that ZhuangXue is a springboard for Buddhism to ascend to the throne, and its influence on Buddhism is both deep and extensive. The Biography of the High Monk records a story that shows the inextricability of Zhuangxue and Buddhism:
There were people who came to seek the Fa to listen to the lecture, but after listening to it for half a day, it was difficult to understand the meaning, and the more they listened, the more confused they became, so Hui Yuan quoted "Zhuangzi" to explain, and the audience suddenly became enlightened. To talk about the General Idea of Buddhism, it is necessary to quote "Zhuangzi" to help, is Zhuang Xueqi not the foundation of Buddhism?
In addition, Zhi Daolin, the founder of the "I.e. Se Sect", was also quite proficient in Zhuang Xue. "Guanghong Ming Collection" contains more than twenty of his ancient poems, Lao Zhuang has a strong charm, and his interpretation of "Zhuangzi Getaway" was also highly respected in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the so-called "Xiang Xiu, Ya Shang Zhuang Lao, the second son of the different times, the fashion Xuan Tongye" ("Shi Shu Xinyu Literature" Note quote), Although Zhi Shu and Xiang Xiu are different, they both love "Zhuang" and "Lao", and their literary style and hobbies are also similar. Moreover, before the Zhidaolin, the metaphysicians did not talk about the Buddha, or even interact with the Buddhists, and the Zhidaolin created a precedent for the combination of Xuan and Buddha. Therefore, people at the time commented that he was a "famous man in robes" and said that he was "a talker of the wind god".
Third, Buddhists like to use the language of Lao Zhuang to explain the Buddhist scriptures
As for the Buddhists, they are only interpreting the Buddhist scriptures in Lao Zhuang's words. Even the Buddhist treatises of Master Hui Yuan and Monk Zhao are the meaning of a large piece of Lao Zhuang.
The teachings of Buddhism are becoming more and more subtle, inseparable from the absorption of The Study of Daozhuang. And if you look at it in comparison, you will find that the mysterious and mysterious principles mentioned in the Diamond Sutra and the Heart Sutra are completely different from the original Buddhist "Ahan Sutra" and "Ten Recitations", and the principles of righteousness have changed, and their words are only exaggerated by zhuang laozhi. The ideas of the Diamond Sutra originated from Lao Zhuang, and later the ideas of Zen Buddhism learned more from Lao Zhuang through the Diamond Sutra. After several twists and turns, Taoism has fallen behind.
Zhu Xi did not want to see Buddhism, believing that it was extremely harmful, and later Zen Buddhism was even more so, "Zen is the most harmful way." This view is not only a disdain for Buddhist plagiarism, but also a glimpse of the harm caused by Buddhist governance: the people abandon this world and are bent on seeking blessings in the afterlife; the land is uncultivated, the frontier is not defended, and they only want to escape into the empty gate.
It can be seen that it cannot be said that Zhu Xi did not study the Buddhist scriptures, but his remarks were obviously somewhat confused. If zen buddhism integrates Chinese culture, especially the study of Lao Zhuang, but it is concluded that people's hearts are not right and the source is unknown, it is obviously wearing a microscope to pick bacteria, wearing colored glasses to see people, always feeling that the other party is very dirty, is a bastard thief.
