Roxie went public about her first episode of symptoms, when they were eating dinner when she lost the ability to speak and her blood sugar dropped dramatically.

Roxie also praised her boyfriend Jack, who helped her cope with her symptoms and accept her current situation with a good attitude. She also said that when fighting the disease, jack's support for herself was inseparable. Roxy says Jack is her spiritual motivator. He has been with her since she fell ill, and her family is far away in Australia, so Jack is her family here.
She added: "The disease is ubiquitous and beyond my control. My glycemic index would drop so badly that I couldn't get them to recover, I couldn't even talk, I couldn't communicate with people, it was terrible.
