10. In the Battle of Yanggu, Wang Ruiyi was sacrificed

- The "Sharpshooter" of the Battle of Yanggu was heroically sacrificed

After the Eighth Route Army recaptured Dongping and Xinxian, Yanggu City was already under siege on three sides. From July 21 to 26, 1945, Song Renqian, commander of the Jiluyu Military Region, and Yang Yong, deputy commander of the Jiluyu Military Region, commanded the troops of the four military sub-districts of the Jiluyu Military Region, and launched the Yanggu Campaign with the cooperation of local armed forces. Wang Ruiyi accompanied the artillery company of the Eighth Military Sub-district of the Hebei-Luyu Military Region to provide artillery support. The main forces of the four regiments of the Eighth Military Subdistrict divided and surrounded the central stronghold of the puppet army on the night of the 23rd, and after a fire assault and political offensive, the puppet Yang Valley and Xinxian County, Shouzhang Garrison and puppet government personnel who retreated to the city surrendered one after another.

At noon on 24 July, when the yanggu war was in a state of stalemate, the artillery company of the Eighth Military Sub-district of the Jiluyu Military Region was taking advantage of the gap between artillery fire to eat, when suddenly enemy planes flew in and dropped shells, and Wang Ruiyi and the eight people who ate with them were blown to pieces by the shells, and even the fragments of clothes were not found, and all were sacrificed.

The Ninth Regiment of the Puppet Appeasement Army resisted stubbornly, and the siege troops continued to explode, and by the morning of the 26th, the core bunker was blown up, and the puppet army was completely annihilated, liberating the county town of Yanggu. 【18】

Wang Ruiyi Martyr Information: Wang Ruiyi, a native of Tiemen Village, the second district of Dongping County, was born in May 1928, joined the army in the spring of 1945, Dongping Jigan Brigade, artillery, participated in the Battle of Dongping in May 1945, died in the Battle of Yanggu in July 1945, at the age of 16.

Other martyrs who died at the same time as the family were:

1. Wang Quanxian (1925.11-1942.08), who joined the revolution in January 1941, was martyred by the Dongping Jigan Brigade and Feicheng County Yanmazhuang.

2. Wang Huaiqin (1911.08-1941.10), a party member, joined the revolution in September 1938 and died at the north gate of Dongping County.

3. Wang Mingshui (1918.05-1941.10), joined the revolution in February 1941, the second district of Dongping County.

4. Wang Qinglun (1939.08-1959.09), who joined the revolution in January 1959, died in the line of duty in Weihai City and was buried in Muniu Town, Yantai.

Postscript

When the third grandfather was alive, every time he burned paper in the Qingming Dynasty, he would always nag his second brother (Wang Ruiyi) who died in the Battle of Yanggu, and said many times that if he had the opportunity to tell your second grandfather a yin medium (old social customs), he would also have a home under the Yellow Spring, but it has not been realized.
