Chronicle of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in ping'a Mountains (III)

——Remembering the ancestors of the family war

Third, the land house breakout

- Blocking the Japanese to cover the breakthrough

The "Eastward Detachment" of the Eighth Route Army entered Rusi. At that time, the 18th Army was nominally under the control of Yan Xishan's Second Theater of Operations. In January 1939, the Kuomintang established the Sulu Theater, with Yu Xuezhong of the Northeast Army as commander-in-chief, unifying the command of shandong and northern Jiangsu. The Kuomintang government would not have agreed to the main force of the 115th Division going to Shandong, so we would not use the name of the 115th Division to the outside world, but the name of the "Eighth Route Army's Eastward Detachment.". It was at this time that the Kuomintang diehards attacked the Eighth Route Army in southern Hebei and forcibly abolished our anti-Japanese democratic regime. Peng Dehuai wanted to go to Ji'nan to deal with this matter, so we went east in the name of escorting Peng Dehuai. On March 1, 1939, the 'EastWard Detachment' entered Luxi from Juancheng and officially set foot on the land of Shandong. ”【7】

On March 7, 1939, Chen Guang and Luo Ronghuan led the division headquarters and most of the 686th Regiment into the Taixi region, and on the 10th, they arrived at Xia Xie in the northeast of Dongping County, and on the 14th, the 115th Division met with the 6th Detachment of the Shandong Column and the Taixi Special Committee in Changzhuang, Dongping County, and at the same time established a rear hospital at the Changzhuang Mountain Temple. The six detachments of the Shandong Column fought side by side with the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army, opening up a new situation in the Shandong War of Resistance. 【8】

On March 17, 1939, Wang Ruichen participated in the Battle of Xiangshan with six detachments.

On March 20, 1939, the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army held the famous Changzhuang Conference in Dongping, which mainly publicized and implemented the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the CPC Central Committee. On March 22, 1939, in the battle of Zhenghai Village, the fifth district of Dongping County, Chen Boheng, the leader of the first regiment of the six detachments, was killed.

In early April 1939, the Japanese puppet armies in Tai'an, Feicheng, Pingyin and Dongping counties swept away the Taixi base area. Wang Ruichen accompanied the Second Regiment and the Tai'an Independent Regiment to block the enemy all the way to Feicheng west of Anlin Station. The 115th Division's Dongjin Detachment fought fiercely with the Japanese at Linmazhuang in Dongping and Dadongzhuang in Feicheng. The three regiments fought against the Japanese puppet army in Feicheng at Fozhuang (Fuzhuang), Guliu, and Niujiazhuang Xishan. This counter-sweeping campaign was the largest anti-sweeping battle since the 115th Division's Eastward Branch entered Taixi. 【6】

Wang Ruichen participated in the Lufang Breakout Battle with the 2nd Regiment of the Six Detachments and the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army. At the beginning of May 1939, the commander of the Japanese 12th Army, Otaka Guizang, mobilized more than 8,000 Japanese puppet troops, more than 100 tanks and cars, and more than 100 artillery pieces from 17 towns in Tai'an, Feicheng, Dongping, Wenshang, and Ningyang, and besieged the anti-Japanese base area in western Taixi by nine roads in an attempt to find the main force of the Eighth Route Army for a decisive battle, and the Battle of Lufang began.

On May 11, the 115th Division headquarters and the Luxi District Committee led the 686th Regiment, the Jinpu Detachment and the 6th Detachment 2nd Regiment to the Dafengshan area, the 6th Detachment and the 2nd Regiment occupied the positions around the old monk Tainan mountain and the Loess Ridge to block the enemy attacked by Feicheng and Pingyin, the Loess Ridge position was the focus of the enemy's attack, the two sides fought repeatedly, after several changes of hands, in the afternoon the 2nd Regiment position shrank to the north hill of Xiaodongzhuang, and more than 300 Japanese troops continued to advance south, which was the last barrier for the headquarters to hold the west land house, if the enemy attacked and occupied again. The commanders and fighters of the second battalion of the six detachments, holding the will to have an invincible decisive victory, rushed to the death, and with the cooperation of the second battalion of the 686 regiment, fought bitterly for more than an hour, and finally annihilated most of the enemy who broke in, ensuring the safety of the whole line.

On the evening of May 11, the two regiments of the six detachments broke through the siege and crossed Tuntou in a northwesterly direction and headed straight for the Ping'a Mountains. 【5】

Luo Ronghuan concluded after the war: "This is the most arduous and largest battle since the 115th Division marched east. This time, although we were facing a passive battle with an enemy several times larger than ours, thanks to the heroic fighting of all the commanders and fighters and the support of the masses of the people, we successfully broke through the enemy's encirclement. The significance of this victory is enormous. [10] However, since the vast majority of the casualties of our army in this battle were the backbone of the officers and men of the Red Army who arrived in Yan'an through the Long March, the descendants of Jinggangshan, and the seeds of the revolution, in this sense, this is also an irreparable and serious loss of our army, which is regrettable.

Ambush in the east and tomato garden. In May 1939, Zhang Boyuan, chief of the Civil Movement Section of the Sixth Detachment of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army, together with Jiang Weihe in Dazhai Village, Dong'a County, Liu Zhongdai in Donggouliu Village, Dongping County, and Wang Shunduo of Wanglou Village in Dong'e County, established the "Ping Achigan Brigade of the Sixth Detachment of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army" in Dazhai Village (now Part of Pingyin) in Dong'a County. The Japanese army that returned to dong'a county after the battle of Lufang ambushed it. The headquarters of the six detachments issued the "Battle Success Report" calling it a "series of miraculous life" battles. This battle was the first time that the Japanese Kou were hit in the Ping'a Mountains, and the mass anti-Japanese torrents in the Ping'a Mountains were even more intense. 【11】

In June 1939, the 115th Division helped the six detachments to reorganize, the regiment was downsized into battalions, and the original 1st, 2nd and 3rd regiments were reorganized into 1st, 2nd and 3rd battalions (each battalion had four companies). Liu Jixing, commander of the first battalion, Liu Xing, political commissar; Hu Xunwu, commander of the second battalion, Zou Lufeng, political commissar; Mo Enrong, commander of the third battalion, and Li Wenfu, political commissar (in October, the third battalion was changed to a special agent battalion). Wang Ruichen became a soldier of the second regiment of six detachments to a soldier of the second battalion and five companies of the six detachments, and Feng Xianyuan (who was 16 years old at the time) from shahe town in Dongping County also joined the sixth detachment of the Shandong column of the Eighth Route Army.

Introduction to the two battalions of the six detachments. After the reorganization, Hu Xunwu, commander of the Second Battalion (according to some sources, Hu Yongwu and Hu Xunwu, a native of Ningdu County, Jiangxi Province, was 32 years old at the time), an old Red Army who had experienced a 25,000-mile long march, fought bravely, commanded well, and set strict demands on subordinate cadres. Political Commissar Zou Lufeng (Liaoyang, Liaoning, then 28 years old), graduated from Northeastern University, had high political attainment, and had a strong grasp of policy principles, referring to the good teacher and friend of the fighters. Deputy battalion commander Jin Shilin, who was 25 years old at the time, was formerly the chief of staff of the detachment in Fan Zhuxian's unit, a native of Liaocheng County (now Liaocheng City) in Shandong Province, with a military posture, a high theoretical level, a violent temper, and a fierce demeanor.

Wang Ruichen's company is six detachments, two battalions, and five companies. The second battalion was subordinate to four companies, and the commander of the fifth company was Xia Shulin, a veteran, brave in combat, and an instructor, Wu Zhidu, a native of Changqing County, Shandong Province (now Changqing District, Jinan), who was 19 years old at the time, and was succeeded by Xu Baoxin (a native of Feicheng, Shandong Province, who was 19 years old at the same time). 【12】

Since June, Wang Ruichen and the two battalions of six detachments have continuously fought on the front line of Xiaozhi, Shiheng, and Hualandian, sealing off and besieging enemy strongholds, cracking down on the enemy's grain grabs and grabbing ding, covering local political power, helping to establish mass organizations for peasants, youth, women, and children, and carrying out anti-Japanese rescue activities, so that the area of more than fifty huali will become a relatively reliable rear area of the troops.

In August 1939, the Dongping County Party Committee held a plenary meeting of the "Motion Committee" of each district in Xigouliu Village, the second district, and established the Dongping County Anti-Japanese National Salvation Mobilization Committee, with Liu Zhongyu as the director and Sun Yacheng as the deputy director.

In August 1939, in order to strengthen the leadership of local armed forces, the Luxi Military and Political Committee decided to appoint the Independent Brigade of the 115th Division and the Luxi Military Region, Yang Yong as the commander of the Military Region, and Duan Junyi as the deputy brigade commander and deputy commander. The sixth detachment was temporarily concurrently served as the first (Taixi) military sub-district, with He Guangyu as commander and Li Guanyuan as political commissar.
