At the same time, Western arms assistance to Ukraine has been increasing, and if some people have guns, Ukraine will undoubtedly be able to hold out. On March 4, Kiev local time, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy said that in order to support the entire territory of Ukraine against the invasion from Russia, the first batch of 16,000 foreign volunteers has arrived in Ukraine. Zelenskiy revealed the news through a video posted on his Facebook account, noting that "Ukraine is already greeting these foreign volunteers." The 16,000-strong Foreign Legion is already on its way, for us in Ukraine, for everyone, for the protection of freedom and life. "These volunteers were called by the Ukrainian government to join the war with Russia by the Ukrainian government, but President Zelenskiy did not disclose which countries the volunteers came from. On the one hand, the governments of the United States, Britain, Japan, Germany and other countries advised their own nationals not to easily join the volunteers going to Ukraine, but they continued to provide all-round support to Ukraine in the form of increasing arms supply, increasing aid materials, and strengthening sanctions against Russia. In particular, Germany, which is wary of arms aid, has been increasing the supply of various new equipment to Ukraine, including offensive weapons. In the video, President Zelenskiy praised the arms support of the aforementioned countries, saying that "every day we receive new ammunition supplies from our partners, real friends, and we have more and more powerful weapons every day".
