According to B/R reporter Jake Fischer, sources revealed that in either form, both the Lakers and Russell-Westbrook are interested in finding a new home for them this summer.
Sources revealed that the Lakers and rockets did not have much progress in the deal discussions between the Lakers and the Rockets on Russell Westbrook and John Wall before the trade deadline, as the Lakers refused to put their 2027 first-round picks into any deal just to get rid of Westbrook's salary. League watchers point to this offseason as a better chance for the Lakers to get out of Westbrook's contract, where they will qualify for the 2029 first-round pick.
