In fact, before the war between Russia and Ukraine, I roughly browsed the new car sales in Ukraine in 2021, and I only remember that Kia KX5 sales were the first, and Chery soared by 135.7%. Now it's more of a curiosity to re-look at it – don't you wonder how many more cars Ukraine can sell in 2022?
For example, in 2014, Ukraine was turned upside down and car sales fell by 14%, but it was also that year that Toyota and Geely were the two best selling car brands in Ukraine.
In 2021, Ukraine sold a total of 103245 new cars, up 20.8% year-on-year. For comparison, before the Crimea problem broke out in 2013, 210,000 vehicles could be sold a year, and in 2008, more ancient times, the figure was 640,000.

With the income level of ordinary Ukrainians (ordinary workers equivalent to 1000RMB per month), there must be something wrong with this huge gap.
For example, if we are in China, there are Wuling Hongguang, Baojun 310, Geely Emgrand in the top ten, and the rest are Camry and CR-V analogues, and if the monthly salary of ordinary people is 1,000 yuan, we dare not think about it.

On the other hand, we can see that Chery Automobile is mixed well in Ukraine, and the main sales model is also two affordable SUV models that focus on cost performance. Judging from the distribution of these models, we can draw some conclusions:
The gap between the rich and the poor in the car-buying group in Ukraine is extremely large.
Chery sells well in Ukraine.
Even in poverty, Ukrainian auto consumers are willing to pursue normal cars.
Poor road conditions have made Ukrainian consumers prefer SUVs.
Durable Japanese brand SUVs are their first choice.
Before 2014, Ukraine's best-selling model Lanos came from their own brand ZAZ, essentially Daewoo's compact sedan OEM
On this list, you don't see anything about the public, and you don't see anything about Opel. All car purchase needs are driven by survival and tenacity. It also proves that even Europeans can accept Chery cars from China, but rather, it is the cheap cars composed of Chery and Renault that are eye-catching enough, and those BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE appear more "luxurious"
I'm not quite sure in the Context of Ukrainians whether this "luxury" is a positive or negative word. All I know is that this may have been a doomed ending long ago.
