As a child, I felt that the radio was wonderful: pull out the antenna, turn the knob, and there was the sound of talking and singing.
Around 1970, my father bought a desktop radio from Beijing, placed it on a cabinet at home, and installed a few No. 5 batteries to listen to it. I cherished it at the time and found a piece of silk cloth and a handmade fabric with a pattern, which was covered on the radio in two layers. If you want to listen to the radio, first open the two layers of covering cloth, twist the knob, you can choose the program. At that time, there were mainly the Central People's Radio and the Provincial Radio, and the content that could be listened to was also very monotonous; at 6:30 in the morning, I listened to the news and newspaper summary programs of the Central Broadcasting Corporation, and at 8:00 p.m. I listened to the news broadcast programs from all over the country, and these two programs had to be rebroadcast.
I remember also often playing programs that can record news, that is, there is important news, the announcer mouth broadcast speed is very slow, and a sentence is recited several times, which is convenient for people to record and organize and study. When I was a teenager at that time, I also followed the adults to listen to the news, and learned a lot of political news such as the "Cultural Revolution," the criticism of forests and the criticism of kongs, the counterattack against right-leanings, the aid to Vietnam to resist the United States, and the visits of foreign dignitaries, as well as news such as satellites in the sky, agricultural harvests, and industrial development. The entertainment program is extremely monotonous, with excerpts from revolutionary model plays, about half an hour as a unit, and rotating the singing sections of modern Peking opera such as "Red Lantern", "Sha Jiabang", and "Wise Tiger Mountain". For each broadcast, the announcer first tells the audience the name of the singing segment, such as: "Fight the Tiger on the Mountain", and then plays this singing section of Yang Zirong's "Wise Tiger Mountain". The whole drama was also often played; the radio station also played songs, mainly red songs, as well as interludes from films that were publicly screened at the time, such as "Shining Red Star" and "Tunnel Warfare" interludes.
After the smashing of the "Gang of Four" in October 1976, many changes occurred in the radio program, the news program reported the name of the announcer, I knew the famous announcers such as Yangguang Xiaqing, Fang Liang, Lin Ru, Yakun, Hongyun and so on; the program was more abundant, broadcasting a large number of newly created songs, such as "Toast Song", "Our Life is Full of Sunshine", and the old film interludes before the "Cultural Revolution", such as "Honghu Red Guards" and "Liu Sanjie"; with film recording and editing programs, The feature film of about two hours is edited to less than an hour, accompanied by commentary, which is convenient for people to listen to. At that time, I was very obsessed with this, and repeatedly listened to the recordings of movies such as "The Hunt" and "Massacre on the Nile"; the book review program was also very attractive, especially the slightly older one, sitting on the small horse, and regularly listening to Liu Lanfang and Yuan Kuocheng's long commentaries "Yang JiaJian", "Yue Fei Chuan", "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", etc.; with the vigorous development of China's sports industry, the live broadcast of the game was also very fashionable, and the sports competition broadcast by Song Shixiong attracted a large number of listeners, and his cannon-like voice was very charming, and Lang Ping's nickname was "Iron Hammer" From his mouth to the ears of countless people; people love to learn, the radio station's study program is very popular, I also followed the study of English for a period of time, bought English books, once every two days, both to learn the grammar of words, but also to read aloud; the tone of the announcer, but also according to the broadcast content to become softer and softer, increase the affinity, I often listen to the Chinese people's Liberation Army Fujian Front Radio Program, this is the Taiwan program, the female announcer's voice is very sweet, very attractive, I think Taiwan compatriots must like it.
People in the city love radios, but radios were not widespread in rural areas until the 1980s. In order to allow peasants to hear the broadcast, the state has vigorously set up cable broadcasting, and has also taken the ordinary broadcasting rate as an important assessment indicator. At that time, in the countryside, there were many cement poles or wooden poles, the line entered the homes of the members, each household installed a radio box hanging on the wall, there was a rope switch, regular broadcast programs, open the switch can be listened to, mainly the county, commune radio station self-run programs, as well as broadcast central stations, provincial stations programs.
When I went up the mountain in the countryside and went to the countryside, I submitted a press release to the county radio station, but unfortunately it was not broadcast. Cable broadcasting and telephone are one line, and when the county radio station broadcasts the program, the village cannot answer the phone. Farmers with relatively high incomes also buy radios, after all, there are more programs that can be listened to, but due to the limitations of communication signals, the quality of listening is far inferior to that of cities.
Television sets were rapidly spreading, putting pressure on radio stations. In order to attract listeners, radio stations are also improving. Radio songs on demand, quiz, etc. came into being, I have not ordered songs, but sometimes I also lie on the sofa, listening to on-demand programs, after all, people's hobbies are the same, other people's favorite songs, many I also love to listen, and on-demand song people often say reasons, very interesting. There are also some service programs, such as traffic information, which are very suitable for the needs of listeners.
Decades have passed, and despite other means such as television sets, I have maintained the habit of listening to the radio that I have developed in the past. Whenever I'm out in the car, I turn on the car radio and listen to the news or music. Every morning and at 6:30 p.m., listen to the news reports and simulcast programs of the Central Broadcasting Corporation. I'm not going to change this habit. Similarly, broadcasting as a form of communication will not disappear.
