Sanxingdui has made new discoveries!
On September 9th, the "Archaeology China" major project - Sanxingdui Site Archaeological Excavation Phased Achievements Press Briefing Was Held at the Sanxingdui Museum, and the Sanxingdui Archaeological Site of the Central Radio and Television Corporation was broadcast live at the same time, announcing to the public the major archaeological achievements of the No. 3 pit and No. 4 pit in the Sanxingdui Site Sacrifice Area.
Six new "sacrificial pits" have been discovered, and since the excavation restarted, nearly 10,000 numbered cultural relics have been unearthed, and the mystery of Sanxingdui is being further unveiled. And what precious cultural relics have been amazingly unveiled?

Sanxingdui once again shows the world an infinitely wonderful ancient Shu society.
At the press conference, the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology announced a new batch of cultural relics excavated from Sanxingdui Archaeology, one of which was particularly eye-catching.
This gold mask was unearthed in mid-June at the Sanxingdui site No. 3 "Sacrifice Pit". According to reports, this thin butterfly wing gold mask is 37.2 cm wide, 16.5 cm high, weighs about 100 grams, eyebrows are hollowed out, the two ears are rounded, the nose bridge is high, the mouth is large and slightly open, the shape is majestic and sacred, it is the most complete gold mask unearthed in the archaeological excavations of Sanxingdui, and it is still shining after a thousand years.
In January this year, Sanxingdui unearthed about 286 grams of gold mask fragments, although only "half a face", but it still maintains the record of the heaviest gold mask unearthed in Sanxingdui.
Archaeologists revealed that two other gold masks to be repaired have been unearthed at the Sanxingdui site. With the follow-up archaeological research and restoration work, sanxingdui will have more "golden" miracles.
The excavation also has a beautiful sacred tree pattern jade, which attracts people's imagination.
In ancient times, the jade was used as a sacrifice, and the jade tree unearthed this time is clearly engraved with a tree of gods, which accurately proves that the ancestors of Sanxingdui thousands of years ago could communicate with civilizations thousands of miles away under the condition of inconvenient transportation, and confirmed the development process of Chinese civilization's pluralism and integration.
The newly unearthed bronze kneeling and turning head figure is extremely exquisite and extremely rare. The expression is delicate, the body proportions and muscles are very realistic. Hair "soaring into the sky" and exaggerated proportions of hands, it is a work full of realism and romantic imagination, which makes people full of reverie.
In the No. 8 sacrificial pit being excavated, the first layer of ash has cleared a large number of bronze fragments, more than 280 pieces of jade, and more than 300 pieces of gold leaf. Several golden leaves excavated this time are dazzling.
There are more than 200 tusks on the second floor of the sacrificial pit No. 8, and the third layer of cultural relics below. At present, the bronze divine beast, the bronze altar of unprecedented complexity and the bronze artifact with traces of cinnabar painting are initially revealed.
