The first meeting of the 13th Nantong Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference successfully completed the agenda and closed at the Nantong Grand Theater on the morning of the 26th.
The General Assembly shall have 523 members and 492 members, which shall meet the prescribed number. Members of the supervision group of the provincial party committee organization department change work attended the meeting to supervise.
By secret ballot, Huang Weidong was elected chairman of the 13th Nantong Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Shan Xiaoming, Dong Zhengchao, Jin Yuan, Shi Xuelei, Yang Caoming, Gu Guobiao, and Xu Feng were elected vice chairmen, and Shao Huaide was elected secretary general. Ding Xiaoyan and 94 other comrades were elected as standing committee members.
At the closing meeting held later, Wang Hui, Wu Xinming, Zhuang Zhongqiu, Shen Lei, Wang Xiaohong, Lu Weidong, Feng Chunqing, Jiang Dong, Zhou Jianxin, Wang Hongtao, Wang Xiaobin, Zhang Jianhua, leaders of the Municipal CPC Committee, the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, the Municipal Government, and the Nantong Military Subdistrict, as well as responsible comrades of the Municipal Intermediate People's Court and the Municipal People's Procuratorate, attended the meeting to congratulate them. Qiang Qiang, a member of the CPPCC Municipal Committee, sat in the front row. Past veteran leaders Cheng Yamin, Cao Nengxin, and Wang Dezhong were invited to attend the meeting. The conference was presided over by Yang Caoming.

Huang Weidong pointed out that this year is the year of the Twentieth CPC National Congress, the beginning of the comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the provincial and municipal party congresses, and the beginning of the new CPPCC session. Standing at a new historical starting point, the cppcc municipal committee organizations and the vast number of CPPCC members should adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the decision-making and deployment of the central and provincial and municipal party committees, focus on practicing people's democracy in the whole process, vigorously promote the construction of special consultative bodies, better play the role of "important positions", "important platforms" and "important channels", and forge ahead into a new journey and write a new chapter with a more upbeat and uplifting attitude and a hard-working style. It is necessary to always maintain a sincere heart and ensure that the CAUSE of the CPPCC always advances in the correct direction. The meeting adopted the "Letter to the Members of the Twelfth CPPCC Municipal Committee" and the "Resolution of the General Assembly".
