On February 25, ZTE's brand Nubia held a new product launch conference and released the Nubia Z40 Pro, which is known as the "strongest Z series flagship in history".
The familiar "inner circle outside"
The Nubia Z40 Pro inherits the design language of the previous generation in appearance. The right-angled border makes the fuselage appear tough, and the upper and lower sides of the fuselage are also flat like the previous generation, which can make the mobile phone stand on the desktop. The waterfall-like surface at the back makes the grip smoother.
The Nubia Z40 Pro's 199g weight and 8.46mm thickness are not outstanding in the current design.
The front of the fuselage features a 6.67-inch centered cut-out curved screen with a resolution of 2400×1080.
This AMOLED screen supports 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut, 10-bit color depth, 1000 nits peak brightness, 3 million:1 maximum contrast ratio, and maximum support for 144Hz refresh rate.
The back of the Nubia Z40 Pro inherits the classic matte AG process of the Z series, providing two colors of interstellar black and galactic silver, making the whole machine look quite textured.
The rear triple camera is arranged differently from the previous generation, with a circle of red decoration in the middle of the main camera. To the right of the camera module is the bright undertone of the same color and the nubia logo.
Only from the appearance point of view, nubia Z40 Pro and the previous generation of Z30 Pro is not much different, Z40 Pro the main upgrade or the most inked camera at the conference.
The industry's first custom optical humanities lens
The imaging system is the aspect that Nubia has focused on in recent years, and it is also the focus of this conference.
The Nubia Z40 Pro is equipped with the industry's first custom optical 35mm human lens, which Nubia said has increased the overall film yield by 70% and suppressed edge distortion to less than 1%. For users who like to take portraits with their mobile phones, this lens should be more suitable.
Featuring the world's first Sony IMX787 flagship sensor, this 35mm-equivalent focal length main lens features a 1/1.3±-inch outsole and f1.6 aperture, 80% faster light intake, and supports full pixel focus and OIS optical image stabilization.
In addition to the 35mm focal length lens, the Nubia Z40 Pro has a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 116-degree ultra-wide angle and ultra-low distortion and an 8-megapixel 125mm periscope lens with 9x optical zoom.
Nubia Z40 Pro is also equipped with a humanistic image color system, while customizing the shadow chasing algorithm to support lightning capture.
Performance iron triangle
The Nubia Z40 Pro features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 from a 4nm manufacturing process and the performance triangular combination of UFS3.1+ full-blood LPDDR5.
Antu Rabbit's performance score is 1.07 million+, Geekbench's performance score is 1200 points in the single-core test, and the multi-core test score is 3489 points.
Due to the feverish precursor of the previous generation of Snapdragon 888, nubia Z40 Pro, as the first batch of smartphones equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, adopts a new aerospace-grade micro-nano cavity graphene phase change temperature equalizer. According to Nubia, the heat absorption performance is 140% higher than that of traditional phase change materials and the thermal conductivity is 300 times higher.
In addition, edge touch optimization, dual speakers, X-axis linear motor, Nubia Z40 Pro did not fall behind.
At the same time, the phone is also adapted to a variety of high-frame rate games of 90Hz and 120Hz, with a stable frame rate of 50+ Hz and game acceleration certified by Tencent.
The battery specifications of the Nubia Z40 Pro have also been upgraded to a 5000mAh large battery, supporting 80W fast charge, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ and PD fast charge protocol.
Pure system, magnetic charging
The system was once the most criticized place for Nubia mobile phones, and the Nubia Z40 Pro debuted my OS 12 deep customization system, "pure" is its biggest selling point.
The My OS 12 system has a more personalized design and a small window function, while adopting a new ACT application preservation technology to improve the ability to retain the background. The My OS 12 system has also passed BSI security certification, supporting functions such as fuzzy location information and real-time reminder of privacy information collection, which improves privacy protection capabilities.
The conference also specially launched the Nubia Z40 Pro Gravity Edition, which supports magnetic wireless charging, which is also the first magnetic charging mobile phone in Android.

Taken together, the Nubia Z40 Pro's parameter configuration is decent. As Nubia's first flagship machine in 2022, it is a stable start.
