Andrew Wiggins (born February 23, 1995 in Toronto, Canada) is a Canadian professional basketball player who plays as a point guard/small forward for the NBA Golden State Warriors.
At the NBA Draft on June 27, 2014, Andrew Wiggins was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the first round and became the first pick.
On Aug. 24 of the same year, Andrew Wiggins was traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 22 jersey. On December 4, the NBA officially announced that Andrew Wiggins was named the 2014-15 First Month Western Conference Rookie of the Year.
On February 14, 2015, Andrew Wiggins won the Rookie Challenge MVP during the NBA All-Star Weekend.
On March 5, Wiggins was named The Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the fourth consecutive month. Subsequently, on May 1, the NBA officially announced that Andrew Wiggins was named the 2014-15 NBA Rookie of the Year.
On February 7, 2020, the Timberwolves officially announced the trade of Andrew Wiggins to the Golden State Warriors.
