LICC was launched in 2006 by two artists from the Farani Group, Launa Bacon and Hossein Farmani. Farmani Group has been a leading global organization since 1985 and has been promoting photography, design and architecture for many years. As a designer, winning THELIC is a supreme honor, and for the overall international design field, it is a concrete thrust to significantly improve the level of design, and the value is self-evident.
On February 23, the London International Creative Competition (ICC) announced the final winners. The jury selected up to 20 outstanding finalists in each category, and finally selected the best of each category in the Professional and Student groups.

Thailand Samui Butterfly Villas
Design: GWP Architects
The project is located on a sloped hillside in Koh Samui, Thailand, with 180 degrees of sea view, covering an area of 6561.3 square meters, and the total proposed construction area is 5300 square meters. The architectural form of the project is similar to the form of a butterfly resting and flapping its wings. The buildings twist freely along the mountain and adapt to each other. Considering the landscape view and the privacy between the villas, 270-degree wide-angle lighting is achieved, while the villas are cleverly blocked from each other, in line with the line of sight.

How do you realize the meaning of a place? The project is an invitation to think. After entering a circular platform, the apparently closed mirrored outer surface unfolds into two arches of repeated slats, forming a warm wooden interior: the barrier forms a gateway to the new world. The outside mirror enhances the transition to a place where visitors can get out of the hectic rhythm of everyday life. Inside, visitors feel both closed and open. The gentle movement of the platform floating on the surface of the water enhances a strong sense of presence.

Inspired by the Buddhist concept of "color is emptiness," this project is a meditative hideaway for users to practice mindfulness during a busy urban life. Feel the distortion of consciousness and the capriciousness of life as Bessel surfaces slide from walls to ceilings. Embedded with LED eyes in a nonlinear space, the venue is visually intuitive and fluidly continuous, inspiring introspection of meditators to explore the complexity of the relationship between physical and mental conditions.
