In 1978, at the age of 24, Chen Zhaodi played for the Bayi volleyball team, and in a national league, she accidentally injured her left arm, at this time, for the honor of the team and the country, she did not choose to rest but insisted on playing, and finally, her left arm showed a broken radius.
As the saying goes: "a hundred days of broken bones", but for Chen Zhaodi, this hundred days of rest is a great waste and loss to herself and the team, so this stubborn girl only gave herself two months to rest and then returned to the field.
What is even more surprising is that at this time, Chen Zhaodi actually hung up her left arm and used only her right arm to complete the game, which could not help but move people who witnessed all this, so everyone admired her as "one-armed general".
Since then, Chen Zhaodi has become the leader of the team by virtue of this stubbornness and dedication, as long as she leads everyone to appear on the volleyball field, no matter how difficult the opposing team is to deal with, everyone will be more confident and will not back down.
In 1981, the Chinese women's volleyball team came to the third women's volleyball World Cup, and when playing against the Japanese women's volleyball team, Chen Zhaodi's performance once again proved her strength and dedication.
At that time, the two teams fought fiercely, and unexpectedly, when starting the third set of confrontation, Chen Zhaodi accidentally sprained his waist.

In 1982, they won the World Championship and the Asian Games Women's Volleyball Championship, at the Los Angeles Olympic Games, they achieved three consecutive Olympic championships, and then won the championship again at the World Championships in Czechoslovakia.
Perhaps it was the excessive force of the original world champion, the Chinese women's volleyball team after five consecutive championships once had some records withered, the team showed a certain degree of green and yellow, and the backward training standards also led to frequent defeats on the field.

She once said that although she can no longer fight on the field as a coach, she can never give up this love, volleyball has always been her favorite career, there is no one.
During her time as a coach, in addition to helping the team improve, she also taught children in primary and secondary schools to play volleyball, and in her opinion, volleyball is really a sport worthy of the participation of the whole people.
In 1993, Chen Zhaodi, whose physical problems were serious again, was transferred to the General Political Department's Bureau of Culture and Sports, and began to be responsible for mass sports work in the army's sports work, and also served as the director of the General Political Department's Bureau of Culture and Sports.
In the eyes of others, Chen Zhaodi must have had a lot of leisure at this time, in fact, she was still full of hard work, overtime work became the norm, and even took her subordinates to work sleeplessly for two days and two nights.

In 2006, the state officially awarded her the rank of major general, at this time, people said that the "one-armed general" of that year was truly deserved, and Chen Zhaodi became the first female general in the history of the Chinese women's volleyball team.
But the good times did not last long, the disease found her again, and Chen Zhaodi, who had been tormented by the pain for a long time, was diagnosed with rectal cancer, and even after many surgical treatments, the condition was still uncontrollable in the repetition.
In the years of fighting with rectal cancer, Chen Zhaodi still cares about the women's volleyball team, and she will report the ideas and suggestions for the development of the women's volleyball team at the first time.
After a long period of hard work, Chen Zhaodi's condition finally reached the situation of repeated coma, at this time, her family did not dare to easily leave her half a step, and the old teammates of the women's volleyball team also came to visit her one after another, and everyone hoped that this time the "one-armed general" could still create a myth.
Unfortunately, in 2013, Chen Zhaodi, who had no surgical treatment for rectal cancer, left us forever, and the volleyball arena she loved all her life.
On the day of the funeral, yuan Weimin, the former women's volleyball coach, walked at the front of the line, and Chen Zhaodi's former teammates and colleagues came to mourn, and the atmosphere of regret was extremely painful.
Just in the process of funeral, Yuan Weimin's sentence "Don't fall behind, keep up, don't cry" I don't know how many memories of the old members of the women's volleyball team have been recalled, everyone silently shed tears, Chen Zhaodi left, and left too many regrets for everyone.
Unexpectedly, just after the cremation, Chen Zhaodi's family found several steel nails in the ashes, which were all left by injuries during the competition, in fact, these steel nails are more like the unique military medals of this "one-armed general", she is a hero on the field, a general with outstanding achievements.
Unfortunately, the Iron Lady left at the age of 58, she still has too many wishes to complete, she has not seen the Chinese women's volleyball team return to the glory of the peak again.
After her death, her daughter Guo Chen shared some videos of her life, which also allowed more people to know the real Chen Zhaodi.
People say that such an iron lady who kills decisively on the field seems to be very approachable in ordinary days, and in the eyes of her daughter, she is always a mother who is more worthy of respect than anger and arrogance.
When her daughter was a child, Chen Zhaodi often took her to the training ground to sweat and train, at that time, the daughter did not know how strong her mother was.
It wasn't until her daughter grew up, looking at the medals carefully collected by her mother and listening to her mother talk about every unforgettable game process, that Guo Chen knew how admirable her mother really was.
Because of the influence of such a family, Guo Chen also chose to inherit his mother's ambition when he grew up, became a beach volleyball player, and always worked hard to move forward in sports.
Unfortunately, when Chen Zhaodi died, her daughter was only 26 years old, but even though the mother and son had always gathered less and more, this mother-daughter relationship was particularly deep and more touching.
As Chen Zhaodi's former comrade-in-arms, Lang Ping, who has the title of "iron hammer", the death of her comrade-in-arms naturally makes her feel mixed feelings even more painful.
At this time, the wish to continue the myth of the Chinese women's volleyball team once again shocked Lang Ping's heart, so she represented her former comrades in arms to return to the Chinese women's volleyball team once again, and strived to make the Chinese women's volleyball team return to the peak again as the head coach.
Perhaps, for Chen Zhaodi, there is really nothing more comforting to her under the Nine Springs than the return of the Chinese women's volleyball team to glory.
On the first anniversary of Chen Zhaodi's death, her family decided to bury her ashes in the Anxian Cemetery in Hangzhou, known as the "Hero's Tomb", which is also a leaf fall back to the roots for Chen Zhaodi.
And the photo on her tombstone is still the bust photo of holding the volleyball in the past, and the family also placed a lot of photos of her life and training next to the tombstone, and the iron lady still has a cheerful smile and a cool heroic posture.
Nowadays, Chen Zhaodi has been gone for 8 years, every year on the day of the festival, many people will come to pay tribute to her, people have not forgotten the glory of the Chinese women's volleyball team, and have not forgotten Chen Zhaodi's hard work and dedication.
And today's Chinese women's volleyball team is also working hard, perhaps, honor and trophies are not so important, but this spirit of women's volleyball team, will really inspire the Chinese people to move forward all the way, in different fields to create myths!
