Spring to Crescent Bay (essay)
Text/Wang Yishang (Shandong)

At the northern end of North Changshan Island in Changdao County, Yantai, Shandong, the seaside known as Beihuangcheng is like a crescent moon in the sky, leaning on the green mountains, embracing the blue water, facing north and lying down. The scenery of the mountains and waters, the people who have been separated from me for 18 years, can't help but be fascinated...
It was also in March 1976, and my youthful footsteps stepped into the green barracks and came to the North Changshan Island of the "Sea Immortal Mountain" across the sea from Penglai. On a Sunday, I went to crescent bay under the Jiuzhang Cliff with a few comrades-in-arms to relax, looking at it from a distance, only to see that under the strong sunlight, the stones covering the beach were glowing white, and when I stepped into the beach and looked down, I felt its wonder. The sea stones that were as big as fists and small as eggs were smooth and gorgeous, and the colors were colorful. White as jade, orange-yellow like orange. Bright red like agate, crystal like gelatin. Look closely at the pattern, or if the sun and the moon are cloudy, or like a steep rock waterfall, or like a flower, bird, insect and fish... No wonder Su Dongpo, a scholar of the Song Dynasty University, once said that "colorful and beautiful".
Looking up at the blue sea, the breeze blows, the snow white waves roll to the shore, towering up a series of "water ridges" and "mountain walls", only to listen to the "roar", "mountain wall water ridge" fell on the shore, the stones on the beach were violently pushed up. As a wave receded, the newly gushed stones slid down in unison, and the ensemble played a rhythm of "uproar, sand". So persevering, unceasing.
At that time, I was simply stunned, accompanied by the incessant sound of "uproar, sand", my heart suddenly moved: Aren't the pebbles of O'ao and Crescent Bay born with the rise and fall of each wave, after countless collisions and frictions? Unfortunately, I forgot to pick up a few pebbles to take home as a souvenir (I left the island due to the transfer of troops), which still makes me feel regretful.
According to archaeologists, long island was connected to land hundreds of millions of years ago, and Crescent Bay was still a towering mountain. Later, due to the rise and sinking of the earth's crust, Long Island became an archipelago in the sea, and Crescent Bay became a real bay. There are also the Mazu Temple of Miaodao in the southwest, the "Niangniang Lantern" and the legend of "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" in history, which adds a lot of beautiful myths and legends to Penglai and Long Island. According to historical legend, Qin Shi Huang and Emperor Wu of Han once landed on this island in search of elixirs, so it was named Long Island. When Ye Jianying came to Long Island in 1979, he also gladly wrote an inscription for Crescent Bay: "Inner Changshan Island Yue'er Bay, diligent car fishermen and farmers and ishida, high price ball stone is colorful, women and children are difficult to finger." ”
Due to the long-term natural movement, the boulder with beautiful texture was shattered, and the vast sea used its monstrous waves and slight waves, year after year, day after day, constantly rubbing the rocks on the shore, and after a long period of painful tempering, the rocks finally became today's pebbles.
"Wow-sand", alternating between cold and summer, the sun and menstruation; "wow-sand", this is the symphony of life.
Life is always born with pain. The sea has given the rock thousands of setbacks and grinding to sublimate it, and it is brilliant and eye-catching. O Crescent Bay, approaching you can make the cowardly and cowardly confident and self-reliant, and the arrogant and ignorant humble and introspective...
Crescent Bay, although I have been separated from you for eighteen years, the sound of your snow waves hitting the beach still echoes in my ears, and if there is an afterlife, I will re-integrate into your arms...
