Entry requirements

The University of Manchester adopts a decentralized admissions system, so ... Applicants can view the specific entry requirements for the courses they are interested in. Each course has a dedicated webpage with entry requirements and other useful information. Specific grade requirements vary by course and department, but are generally equivalent to IELTS 6.0-7.0 (or Foundation 5.5).

Requirements for A-Level

Applicants taking an A-Level program are usually required to provide a grade in three subjects (grade requirements: AAA-ABB), depending on the course chosen. The University of Manchester only accepts A-Level grades in three subjects and does not accept additional grades such as subject IV.

AS-level scores are not considered part of the University of Manchester's standard admissions process. With the exception of medical and dental courses, schools require evidence of a broad programme of study. Applicants are required to submit three A-levels plus "some other learning/activity".

The University of Manchester accepts international A-levels from the main examination boards (Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), Pearson/Eders and Oxford International AQA) and does not differentiate them based on the offered admission or required grades.

Undergraduate applications are made to the University of Manchester through the University and College Admissions Service (UCAS). Apply to UCAS for fall enrollment for the following year starting September 1. The deadline to receive applications is January 26, after which applications can be made via the UCAS Extra. If you apply for a course that qualifies in medicine or dentistry, the deadline is October 15 of the year prior to enrollment.

If you applied in the previous year and the application was unsuccessful, you can apply again. The school will consider the application according to the criteria of the year of admission. Applicants are required to demonstrate new changes. When assessing suitability for a chosen course, all information previously applied for or previously registered with Manchester University may be taken into account.

Deferral of admission is at the discretion of the University's admissions staff.
