From the footage, thousands of Model 3 and Model Y vehicles were found parked in ports, waiting to board ships for shipments abroad.

In January this year, Tesla China achieved a good number of export new cars, reaching 40,499 units, up 16,529.79% from the performance of only 245 exports in December last year, but domestic retail sales in January fell compared with December last year.

That's because Tesla's new cars produced in China will usually be mainly used for exports in the first half of a quarter, while the second half of the quarter will be mainly supplied to the domestic market. Now that the first quarter is halfway through, the end of Tesla's last export wave means that the remaining time will be mainly focused on orders in the domestic market.

According to the estimated delivery time of Tesla's official website, from the recent to the end of the first quarter, the domestic car owners who submitted domestic Model 3/Y model orders in November-December last year will be expected to achieve large-scale delivery.

Tesla sold 936,200 units worldwide in 2021, and the Shanghai Gigafactory made a significant contribution to overall deliveries last year. In the fourth quarter alone, more than 178,000 Tesla vehicles were produced at the Shanghai Gigafactory, accounting for more than 50 percent of Tesla's vehicles delivered in the fourth quarter. However, due to the continuous delay in mass production of Tesla's Berlin factory in Germany, the Shanghai Gigafactory is still saddled with the burden of exporting to Europe.

At present, the domestic market orders are also squeezed seriously, according to Tesla's official website information, some models need at least 12 weeks to wait for the car, and some models reached 16 weeks. This means that orders are placed now, and the latest delivery time for some models may need to wait until mid-June.
