No sexual desire, is it frigidity? Experts teach you 6 tricks to self-check!

Background: Assessment scales are often used in clinical work and scientific research in psychiatry to calibrate and quantify mental states, and these scales often involve sexual issues.

And the evaluator and the evaluator have a consistent and unspeakable embarrassment when it comes to this question: Why ask this?

In fact, many of the many women who were evaluated answered were: basically no, don't want this, OK, etc. However, one patient's answer was impressive and thought-provoking - "Doctor, I am cold!" ”

She seemed very calm, and smiled, and did not seem to think it was a problem, and even a little proud.

In fact, frigidity is one of the psychiatric diseases, which belongs to the chapter "Sexual and Psychosexual Disorders". Modern sex medicine research mostly focuses on sexual physiology, and the problem of sexual desire has received little attention.

So let's talk about that today.

First, about sexual desire

The concept of sexual desire is generally defined as: sexual desire is a state of sexual preparation stimulated by sexual feelings, and under the instigation of emotions and intrinsic sexual drives (libido), the desire and impulse to produce sexual excitement and sexual intercourse with the opposite sex.

Sexual desire evokes the state of sexual excitement of the body and is the primary environment for sexual excitement. Sexual desire includes interest in sex, sexual fantasies, and the inner urge to actively want to have sex.

Sexual desire is closely related not only to biological factors (the endocrine system of the central nervous system), but also to psychology (cognition and emotion), sociology (interpersonal relations) and cultural traditions (religion, customs, education).

Second, about sexual dysfunction

When an individual is unable to participate in a sexual relationship with her/he wishes, it is called "sexual dysfunction," a group of age-related, progressively developing common and frequent diseases that severely affect quality of life.

In general, this disorder lasts for a certain long time, and transient, occasional problems with sexual function are not sexual dysfunction.

Sexual dysfunction often causes tension in interpersonal relationships and causes significant pain to patients. Sexual dysfunction in psychiatry includes a variety of disorders, and decreased sexual interest, decreased or absent libido, are more common.

Third, about sexual frigidity

Sexual frigidity is a wide-ranging concept that encompasses the influence of biology, psychology, sociology, culture, education, and other aspects of sexual desire.

Sexual frigidity refers to a state in which sexual fantasies and desire for sexual activity are continuously or repeatedly inadequate or completely lacking, the level of sexual expression is reduced and the ability to sexual activity is weakened, and sexual desire is suppressed to varying degrees, which usually causes pain in patients and affects the relationship between husband and wife.

However, the typical manifestations of frigidity are:

Not interested in all sexual expressions and sexual behaviors, lack of sexual fantasies, lack of initiative requirements, almost no sexual impulses.

Fourth, about the sexual frigidity of people, how many?

Frigidity is more of a common word for women.

In order to understand the incidence and causes of female sexual frigidity and hyposensuality in mainland China, around 2000, there was a large-scale survey of 4700 married women.

The results showed that 826 cases of frigidity, accounting for 17.57%; 266 cases of hyposensuality, accounting for 5.66%; a total of 1092 cases, accounting for 23.23%. Foreign reports, married people are frigid or not sexy enough, women accounted for 35%, showing a higher.

Although the domestic study was slightly lower than that abroad, it still appeared to be quite high, approaching the average of one in four women who were sexually cold.

V. Self-examination criteria for frigidity

Can you compare the following standards to see if you are frigid?

1. Lack or decrease of interest in sexual activity;

2. Lack or reduction of sexual or pornographic thoughts or fantasies;

3. The initiation of sexual activity is reduced or not, and the partner's attempt to initiate sexual activity is usually not accepted;

4. In almost all cases, when sexual contact with the partner is active, there is a lack or decrease in sexual excitement and sexual pleasure;

5. Lack or reduction of arousal of sexual interest in any intrinsic or external sexual or pornographic cues (e.g., written, oral, visual);

6. In almost all cases, when sexually in contact with a partner, there is a lack or decrease in sensations for genital or non-genital.

Knock on the blackboard, knock on the blackboard, knock on the blackboard!!!

At least 3 of the above problems are met and last for at least 6 months, and the individual should feel pain.

Of course, the issue of demanding frigidity cannot be better explained by other issues (such as sexual partner violence or significant trauma, etc.).

Written at the end, broken thoughts

For many people, the desire for sex gradually withers over time, but whether they are sexually cold or not, only they know.

Because, this, extremely private.

Some people are not interested in sex, but still have sexual desires, strong desires and masturbation.

Some people just don't have any sex drive, but may still be close to each other, romantic, and sweet.

Excluding promiscuity and sex demons, whether sex is a pleasure, an obligation, or none at all, it is a step that both husband and wife need to complete at the beginning of a marriage. Using sexual indifference to flaunt yourself or avoid a series of questions seems extremely inappropriate.
