According to foreign media Drive recently reported, the electric version of Grecale will be named Grecale Folgore, the name of "Folgore" comes from the lightning in Italian, to indicate the identity of its electric vehicle. In addition, the Grecale Folgore may feature a 250kW dual-motor configuration, giving it a staggering output of 500kW (about 680PS), making it maserati's highest-output production model ever.
In the electric system segment, perhaps because Grecale was developed on the Giorgio modular chassis platform based on Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia, Grecale Folgore did not use the 800 volt UHV lithium battery pack expected to be used, as the new generation granTurismo and the electric version of the MC20 are expected to use, and the voltage system of the lithium battery pack is only 400 volts; however, the original factory will also provide a power switching system The Grecale Folgore was able to cut off the output of the front axle motor while cruising, saving power.
If Drive's report is true, Grecale Folgore's 500kW power output has surpassed tesla's Model Y Performance's 393kW and Audi E-Tron S's 370kW. The Grecale Folgore will be unveiled as a 2023 model on March 22 with the fuel version of the Grecale, while in fact the market date may fall at the bottom of this year (2022).
