Although many rotary knives are old, they are very well preserved by Wei Xiumin. The Zodiac series comes to life, including souvenirs from the Forbidden City in Beijing and memorabilia from the Nanjing Museum, and Wei Xiumin talks about her collection.
Around 1980, Wei Xiumin became very interested in collecting rotary pen knives. "A small thing, good looking and practical, the price is not expensive." Wei Xiumin said. The first pencil turner in her collection was a green triangular pencil turner the size of a little thumb, "This pencil turner can be said to be the beginning of my collection, which was bought for 1 cent at that time, because it was used, and it was old, and the blade was a little rusty, but I was reluctant to throw it away." ”
The most special of these collections is the Asian Games and Olympic Games series held by China. The 1990 Asian Games souvenirs revealed a sense of age, but panda hope is still vivid; in 2008, Beijing hosted the 29th Olympic Games, and the mascot Fuwa was popular all over the world. Wei Xiumin first took a ride to the Olympic Concession Store and bought the Fuwa series of rotary pen knives, a set of souvenirs that have been placed in a conspicuous position in many collections.
The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will be held at the doorstep of the family, and Wei Xiumin also bought a commemorative pen knife for the Beijing Winter Olympics early. The silver body of the knife, printed with the "2022" and Beijing Winter Olympics logos, simple and generous design, people can't help but love it. "Decades ago, the rotary pen knife workmanship is very simple, practical,as the days are getting better and better, people's needs are more and more, the rotary pen knife also presents the appearance of handicrafts, not only practical but also connotation, I feel that these rotary pen knives of mine are the changes in the Chinese days in these decades."
