Last week' only WTA tour event, Dubai, came to an end, and no one expected that in the star-studded lineup, two unseeded players Ostapenko and Kudmetova would reach the final.
In the end, Ostapenko took only 64 minutes to easily beat Kudmetova 6-0 6-4 to reach the top in Dubai for the first time in his career, which was also the fifth Tour trophy of Ostapenko's career.

First crown
French Open (Grand Slam level)
Before competing in the 2017 French Open, Ostapenko's best record in a Grand Slam tournament was only the third round, and she had never taken a victory away from Roland Garros' main tournament.
However, in the 2017 French Open season, she was a blockbuster, defeating Stosur, Wozniacki, Bacsinski and other good players, reaching the women's singles final of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.
In the final, she faced Romanian star Halep, who reversed herself after losing the first set, becoming the first unseeded player in the history of the French Open to win the title.
Second crown
Seoul Open (WTA250)
Ostapenko's second title did not last long after reaching the top of the Grand Slam, and she won her second WTA singles title in her career by beating Brazilian player Maya in the women's singles final in Seoul as the top seed.
Third crown
Luxembourg Open (WTA250)
After the 2017 season, Ostapenko was in a slump for quite some time, with the ups and downs knocking out the defending champions in the first round.
The Latvian star's third career title came in Luxembourg at the end of the 2019 season, when her world ranking had slipped to 63rd.
In the end, Ostapenko swept Gerges 2-0 in the final, ending a championship drought of more than two years.
Fourth crown
Eastbourne International (WTA500)
Despite winning the heaviest title of his career on clay, Ostapenko has always said his favourite type of venue is grass.
She also won her first grass-side event in the 2021 season, with Eastbourne reaching the final and defeating Cantawirt to win her fourth title on the Tour.
