The new edition of "History of Nanjing City" includes the famous painting "Jinling Map"
Zhu Ziqing once lamented after traveling to Nanjing: "Visiting Nanjing is like visiting an antique shop, and there are some traces of erosion of the times everywhere." ”
The new edition of "Nanjing Urban History" is text-based, supplemented by nearly 300 pictures, including 50 maps of past dynasties, 20 archaeological maps of cultural relics, 45 ancient paintings, 60 old photos, and 40 new photographs.
It is particularly worth mentioning that, with the authorization of Nanjing Deji Art Museum, the new edition of "History of Nanjing City" includes the ten-meter-long Qing Dynasty court painter Feng Ning imitating Yang Dazhang's painting "Song Yuan Ben Jinling Map" in full volume, printed separately, as an appendix, to present the Jinling style from the Southern Tang Dynasty to the Song Dynasty.
According to Xue Bing's research, the central part of the scroll of "Jinling Map" shows the bustling commercial style of the south gate of Jinling City to the longguang gate out of the city in the Song Dynasty. The exquisite and rich life style and urban pattern of the Song people, such as the Colorful House Huanmen, the Washe Storytelling, the Incense DrinkIng Stalls, the Hairpin Flower Merchants, and the Youfang Monks, are vividly displayed, which not only carries the strong cultural heritage of the ancient capital Nanjing, but also reflects the vivid historical picture of the prosperous Song Dynasty.
The new edition of the "History of Nanjing City" also includes the Ming Dynasty Jinling Emperor Zhu Zhifan's "Forty Views of Jinling Image Poetry", which is presented in its entirety in a special edition. In the late Ming Dynasty, the scholar raised a wave of tourism and viewing scenic spots, and Zhu Zhifan chose "Forty Views of Jinling" to reconcile the king's qi of Jinling with the taste of the literati, conform to the inertial path of the city's imagination, and trace the culture of the Six Dynasties of Nanjing, establishing the Nanjing urban tourism space that has influenced the present day.
Synchronously display the harmonious city construction of "Shanshui City Forest"
Thick past is not thin to present. The new edition of "Nanjing City History" not only traces the growth and change of ancient Nanjing, but also presents the urban construction history of Nanjing in the past hundred years, and shows readers the harmonious urban construction of the "Capital Plan" in the Republic of China period to the "Shanshui City Forest" in the 21st century.
In the special edition of "The New Look of Nanjing One City and Three Districts", in the pursuit of leaving historical materials for the future, it also added nanjing young photographers Fang Fei, Zhao Yao, Ruan Zhong, etc. to today's Nanjing in the new century, such as the Jiangsu Grand Theater and Hexi New Town, the Olympic Sports Center, the Nanjing Eye and the Youth Olympic Bridge, Nanjing South Railway Station, Lukou Airport, Zifeng Building, The Snow Scene of Mustard Garden, Xianlin University Town, aerial photography of Gan Xi's former residence panorama, and the Six Dynasties Museum. In these photographs, the rapidly developing Nanjing New Town and the ancient historical and cultural heritage coexist in harmony, giving the ancient capital a vibrant look.
