Guangzhou, 21 Oct (China News Service) -- On 21 October, the Guangzhou Association of Taiwan-funded Enterprises (hereinafter referred to as the "Guangzhou Association for Taiwan Affairs") held the 14th General Meeting of the Board of Supervisors and the celebration of the 31st anniversary of its establishment. Wang Qingxiang, chairman of Daysun Group, was re-elected as the new president, and Xu Naiwen, chairman of Guangzhou Youke Trading Co., Ltd., served as the chairman of the board of supervisors.

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the All-China Federation of Taiwan Enterprises sent congratulatory letters, and Zhu Lilun, chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang, Hong Xiuzhu, chairman of the Board of Directors of the China Qingyan Peace Education Foundation, and Gao Konglian, president of the Cross-Strait Economic, Trade, and Cultural Exchange Association, recorded video congratulations.

At the ceremony, Huang Gengcheng, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Guangdong Provincial CPC Committee, presented an honorary certificate to the veteran president of the Guangzhou Taiwan Association who has served the association for 30 years; Wang Shitong, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal CPC Committee, issued a letter of appointment to the new chairman and chairman of the Guangzhou Taiwan Association; and Wang Qingxiang issued a letter of appointment to the chairman of the new Guangzhou Taiwan Association Youth Association.

Wang Huanqing, vice mayor of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, delivered a speech at the celebration and expressed gratitude for the outstanding contributions made by the Guangzhou Taiwan Association and the Taiwan compatriots in Guangzhou in recent years to help Guangzhou's economic and social development and deepen the integrated development of Guangzhou and Taiwan. He hoped that the Guangzhou Taiwan Association would give full play to the role of Taiwan enterprises as the "bellwether" and a bridge, unite and lead the majority of members to deeply cultivate Guangzhou, develop a win-win situation, and be a good demonstrator, leader, promoter, and practitioner of the integrated development of Suitai and Taiwan. The Guangzhou Municipal CPC Committee and the Guangzhou Municipal Government will, as always, attach importance to, care for and support the development of Taiwan enterprises in Sui, create more opportunities for Taiwan businessmen and Taiwan enterprises, provide equal treatment, and do a good job in various services with heart and soul.

It is understood that the Guangzhou Taiwan Association is one of the earliest Taiwan business associations established in the capital cities of the country, and since its establishment in 1990, it has formed a social group with more than 1,600 members, a relatively large scale, and a strong influence. Since its establishment, the association has held more than 500 lectures on laws and regulations, Huitai heating enterprises, operation and management, etc.; coordinated and resolved various complaints and requests for help of about 20,000 Cases of Taiwan businessmen; and donated more than 300 million yuan in disaster relief, education assistance, orphan care, respect for the elderly, poverty alleviation and other aspects. In particular, since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Taiwan-funded enterprises and Taiwan businessmen have actively assumed social responsibilities and donated nearly 15 million yuan to the fight against the epidemic in various places, ranking first in the province.
