Guo Dan in the team, China's first roller skating world champion, she began to contact roller skating from the age of 3, came to Jiangsu from Beijing at the age of 12 to enter the roller skating professional team, won the roller skating Asian Championship at the age of 14, and then won the world championship, the World Cup, the world games three championships, to achieve the "Grand Slam" in roller skating. Team member Zhang Chi also won China's first men's roller skating world championship at the 2016 Speed Skating World Championships.

In 2015, the Beijing Winter Olympics bid was successful. Under the call of the national "North Ice South Exhibition and West Expansion", the Jiangsu Provincial Speed Skating Team was established the following year, and Guo Dan's roller skating team began to transform the speed skating project.
