Ryan Reynolds has a lot of practice in teasing Deadpool fans, and now it looks like "Merck with a Mouth" is joining the MCU, which means a whole new opportunity to play with theories and rumors about the future of his R-rated comic book characters. He recently chatted with Variety about his new Netflix movie, The Adam Project, and was "ambushed" to address the current state of the Deadpool 3 script and rumors about the character's appearance in The Crazy Multiverse.

Since the Disney/Fox merger, there have been questions about what Exactly Deadpool will look like, and while many fans fear he could be downplayed to a Disney-friendly PG-13 rating, Reynolds and Marvel boss Kevin Feige have previously eased concerns that Deadpool will maintain his R rating the next time he returns to Deadpool 3. When asked by Variety magazine's Marc Malkin how the script for the new film was going, Reynolds gave a small update, saying, "It's coming."

Prior to that, Reynolds was asked by Malkin to tell him "about everything he appears in the Doctor Strange film". Reynolds laughed, and after calling the issue the "least hidden trap" he had ever seen, he went on to comment on things he didn't think he should comment on. He said:

"I don't think I really should say anything, but I'm really not in the movie. I may be an unreliable narrator, but I assure you that I'm not in the movie.

Many fans called Reynolds "pulling Garfield," likening his joke dismissal to the kind of lie that Andrew Garfield spent months telling about his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Out. Whether Reynolds is telling the truth or not is something that everyone has to decide for themselves

For most of the last year, everyone who interviewed Andrew Garfield asked Tick, Tick... prosperity! The lead actor asked the same question and got the same categorical answer: Did he repeatedly answer "no" in Spider-Man: NoWhere? However, from the summer onwards, circulating images showed Garfield wearing his Spider-Man costume on a blue screen background, and later his arm was left in a shot in the trailer where he and Toby Maguire were secretly removed. Now it seems that history is about to repeat itself, with Ryan Reynolds and Dr. Strange repeating itself in a crazy multiverse.

When Reynolds denied his involvement in the film, the grainy images appeared to show Deadpool in an containment room, supposedly from an upcoming movie, suggesting we've been around for months until Doctor Strange in the crazy multiverse finally arrives and puts all of this without saying.
