Xiao Wei was born and raised in Hebei Province, in 1995, after graduating from Sun Yat-sen University majoring in applied mechanics, he joined the Pearl River Piano Group and is currently the leader of the technology research and development work of the Pearl River Piano Group. After working in Pearl River Piano Group for nearly 27 years, Xiao Wei has been engaged in piano product research and development and piano manufacturing technology research, and has developed a number of piano manufacturing technology and processes that have reached the international advanced level. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Xiao Wei led the technical team to complete a total of 1962 core technologies, product research and development, and process tests, and completed more than 150 new product designs. He has presided over the research and development of a series of high-value-added high-end new products, which have been listed in the national key new product plan for many times, which has greatly enriched the categories of high-end pearl piano products and filled the gap in the international high-end piano market of national piano brands. Among them, the nine-foot (275) high-end concert grand piano has been identified as having reached the international high-end piano level, basically reaching the world's top piano level.

Guangzhou Daily: For a technology, you led the team to spend more than a year and conduct more than 1,400 experiments, which is admirable in the spirit of perseverance and excellence. What keeps you going?
Xiao Wei: The mallet is a part of the piano, and through the beating of this mallet, the piano can make a beautiful sound. The more our products move towards high-end and boutique, the more cutting-edge processes and technologies are needed. For a long time, the quality of domestic parts has not reached a high enough level, and whenever high-end products are made, they can only choose to import this part. Only by mastering the technology in their own hands and installing a "Chinese hammer" for the domestic high-end piano can it be possible to break the technical limitations.
The difficulty of PR2.0 string mallet technology development is to test and test every material, every process parameter, and the arrangement and combination of different materials and processes of the string mallet, and pursue a higher level of sound on this basis. We firmly believe that as long as we pay more effort and patience, we are fully capable of catching up with the world's advanced level in the field of high-end manufacturing, and provide core guarantee for the rise of national brand high-end pianos. It was this unwavering belief that sustained us until the 1458th time, when we finally found the technical solution we wanted.
Guangzhou Daily: You have lived and worked in Guangzhou for more than 30 years, in your eyes, what is the charm of the city of Guangzhou?
Xiao Wei: Guangzhou is a city with a deep historical heritage. The most obvious characteristics of Guangzhou's urban culture are dare to be the first, open and inclusive, low-key and pragmatic and focused. I think that Guangzhou enterprises, including Pearl River Piano, can continue to grow, which is not unrelated to this urban temperament of Guangzhou.

Xiao Wei: Guangzhou's manufacturing industry has a deep foundation and a solid foundation for development. In the 1980s, the "Guangzhou goods" represented by "Pearl River Water" and "Guangdong Grain" were well-known throughout the country. Today, Guangzhou's total industrial economy ranks first in the country's cities, and many of Guangzhou's industrial brands are well-known throughout the country. I believe that there are many hidden champions in Guangzhou. I believe that the discovery of these hidden champions, specialized and special new enterprises, and the support and cultivation of growth will certainly have a major role in promoting Guangzhou's scientific and technological innovation capabilities, forming advanced industrial clusters, and strengthening the weak links in the industrial chain.
