01 Ideals are full – I want to be free

Freedom is not about doing whatever you want, but about not doing what you don't want to do.
If you don't want to be a judge, you shouldn't be a judge, this is my freedom, and it is also the respect and fulfillment of the organization.
However, without a stable income, if you want to lie at home, I am afraid that it is not the proper meaning of freedom.
Naked words may not be suitable for everyone, what matters is whether you anticipate the worst outcome and prepare for it.
After resigning, do you do salary?
This is perhaps the safest option for the transition period. Double the income, do not have to worry about the source of the case, do not have to dig up customers, provide judges in daily work with adjudication thinking, and analyze and sort out major difficult and complex cases through moot courts. A very stable path can also quickly monetize the professional resume. After all, eat a full meal first, and then talk about ideals.
However, the stable life in the twenty-year system, the word "stability", is slightly commonplace to me, you may think I am Versailles, but this is not the reason for the siege of the city.
Born in a military family, although I did not worry about eating and wearing, I was not rich and expensive, but I always felt that I lacked a little taste in my planned life.
If you have not been in the waves, how can you say that there are no regrets in life, but you must know that this road is the road of no return.
Therefore, as long as you still have the slightest hesitation, I do not advise you to resign.
In the first year of my resignation, I stayed at home for 8 months, resumed my English studies, applied for IELTS, applied to study abroad, and the release I wanted was to go farther and see the bigger world.

Since going abroad is not successful, go to the best city and see a better version of yourself. This year, I reconciled with myself.
Working hard in a strange city, not knowing people, not knowing the road, and the mentality of returning to zero is a must, but are you ready to accept the result of zeroing?

The second year after I resigned, I began to choose the way to work hard and the city where I worked, and resolutely chose Shanghai.
Many people were puzzled and asked me why I had left the place where I had lived and worked for 20 years and chosen a strange city.
The truest answer I can give is to like.
In the first few months, I came to live with my grandparents and grandparents in Shanghai for a week or two every month, and they gave me a sense of belonging, helped me get acquainted with the city as quickly as possible, felt the summer rain, and experienced the autumn heat, so I had a little more resistance to the winter cold.

02 Reality is bone-chilling – I want to survive
In the third year of my resignation, I began to adapt to the work of a lawyer and face the reality of bone feeling.
The lawyer in your eyes is not the look in the TV series, suits and shoes, talented, witty, rich and idle. So I added a lot of professional suits to my closet, and the suit became my suit.
Look at the real situation, the Ministry of Justice's latest plan, by 2025, the number of practicing lawyers in the country will reach 750,000.
Inner volume, low-price competition, and malicious competition have become unavoidable words in the legal profession.
In this worst-case era, and the best of times, do you have a better way than to accept the challenge and swim against the tide?
When I was a judge, I always thought that it was easy for lawyers to make money, and I often thought that people who were not as capable as judges would make a lot of money.
At that time, I handled a second-instance trial case in which a lawyer sued a client and demanded payment of more than 10 million yuan in lawyers' representation fees.
When I don't look at the facts of the case, I am still quite grumpy 😄 about the high agency fee, and I think about finding a reason to balance it with less judgment.
However, the passage of time, the changes in circumstances and experiences have made me more aware of the difficulties of lawyers.
The judge's summons came unexpectedly, and the client's request came anytime and anywhere.
When you are a judge, you can arrange the trial according to your own work plan, and you can also say more or less words at the time of the trial according to your mood.
As a lawyer, you have no right to choose the time of the trial unless you are in poor health, have a trip*, or have a scheduling conflict. Moreover, being disciplined by judges is commonplace, and it is indispensable to appease customers.
Therefore, the lawyer's time is the judge's, but also the client's, that is, when you are busy, your time is arranged by someone else. Of course, when you are idle, your time is controlled by yourself.
For people who have just entered the transition period, it should be better to be busy all the time.
So, if you're obsessed with regular schedules and time control, I don't advise you to quit.
There are two things in the world that are the hardest —
"Put someone else's money in your pocket"
"Put your thoughts in someone else's head"
Lawyers, aren't they doing the two hardest things?
Put their own understanding of the case into the client's head, gain the client's trust, turn the client's money into the lawyer's agency fee, and at the same time, enter the lawyer's understanding of the case into the judge's head and obtain the judge's approval to ensure the stability and accumulation of the money bag.
When I was a judge, I didn't like the lawyer's high agency fee, and when I did the lawyer, I knew that the agency fee was actually very conscientious. Those who can receive high agency fees are also obtained after long-term accumulation.
Sitting on the judgment bench given by public power naturally has a kind of confidence, and when you choose to get off the judgment bench and sit in the position of an agent, you should respect the change of role.
Occasionally being disciplined by a judge is also a perfectly normal thing.
So, if you're not willing to lower your posture, I don't advise you to resign.
All in all, the judge can study the case without distraction based on the neutrality of the judge, without having to focus on either party. But as a lawyer, in addition to delving into the case, you also have to delve into the psychology of the client, because the lawyer is the firewall of the judge.
If the trend of the case is gratifying, it is naturally easy to manage the client's expectations, but if the trend is reversed, even if the lawyer has prompted and warned the client at the beginning of the representation, it is not easy to obtain the client's recognition and understanding.
There is no absolute freedom, only after familiarity with reality and the way of life.
When you adapt to a new state of life, whether you are stable without waves, or anxious that there are often surprises, you can find "freedom".
Embracing uncertainty and growing up on your own is the only way to overcome inward spirals.
Looking back on the three years since I resigned,
In the first year, know yourself;

After three years, after experiencing and seeing the truth, the passion is precipitated, the ideal is filtered, the role is changed, and the original intention does not change.

No matter which path you choose, which way of life you choose, it is mixed.
Most people who dare to leave the system will not do a bad job, at least not many people who have this courage.
The new year is over, anxiety, is the daily routine of lawyers, looking at the peers around us, we are not alone.
