Tuchel hinted that Haaland would develop towards Chelsea "in the coming weeks"

Tuchel admitted he regularly talks with Chelsea's recruitment team about Borussia striker Errin Haaland.

Haaland is understood to have a £68m termination clause as part of the agreement he signed with the Bundesliga side, which will take effect at the summer transfer window.

The Norway international has scored 12 goals in eight appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season and 70 goals in 69 games.

Many clubs have been linked to Haaland's transfer as the 21-year-old's buyout terms are considered affordable for many of Europe's top clubs.

Now Tuchel has confirmed Chelsea's interest in Haaland but admitted it was "unrealistic" for the deal to be completed at the last window.

Tuchel told Sport Bild (by Target): "We have spoken many times about Erin Haaland, including during the transfer window. But this seems completely unrealistic and simply not feasible.

'Of course, we talk about him a lot because he's a fantastic player and obviously the defining figure for Dortmund, he's a big opponent for us in the Champions League.'

After helping The Italian club win the Pride League title, Romelu Lukaku returned from Inter Milan to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan for £97.5 million in the summer transfer window.

Asked if he could see Haaland and Lukaku playing side by side in the Premier League next season, Tutchell added: "You mean two playing together at the top [with] Lukaku and Haaland? We can talk!

"I don't think we're really taking it seriously yet, but let's see what happens in the coming weeks."

Tuchel, meanwhile, commented yesterday that Lukaku was "exaggerated" and that could be the reason for his substandard performance.

"At this point, I feel like Romelu is a bit overdoing, I think he played too many games in the summer, too many games against the national team," Tuchel said.

"Now he's in the National League. He's a great athlete and he's a very competitive guy, he knows it well, he wants to win these things, and he never relaxes and judges the game.

"He wants to play and win. So I know how much he wants to do well for Belgium at the European Cup, and the national league is important to him.

"It's a huge game for him personally and it means a lot to him to play for his country. So he's really serious. If things don't go well, he always carries it on his shoulders.

"I think he's a little tired, it's not that we have concerns, it's that for me he didn't fully enjoy it without a second or third thought. To me, he was exaggerated a little. This is the key point.

"Once he finds his rhythm, he finds things a little easier. But it's hard to tell if he needs a break or a continued game. The same goes for some of the other players, Mason and Jogy (Jorginho).

"They have a lot of responsibility for their country. They accept and love it, they are competitors. But if you play a thousand games a year, while they love the sport, it feels a bit heavy. They're such good people, but that's how I feel between the lines. ”
