Qi Guangpu, the "king of difficulty", was once thrown into a concussion

In the four Winter Olympic Games, Qi Guangpu finally stood on the highest olympic podium in his dreams.

On the evening of the 16th, in the final of the men's aerial skills of freestyle skiing at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Qi Guangpu won the gold medal with a set of nearly perfect moves.

From Vancouver to Beijing, 12 years of waiting, on this night played the strongest sound.

01 King of Aerial Skills

Unlike Most of China's ice and snow celebrities from the three eastern provinces, Qi Guangpu was born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, and entered sports school training at the age of four.

Every day, I get up at five o'clock, train until seven o'clock and then go to school; after school at four o'clock in the afternoon, I continue to train, and I can't go home at seven or eight o'clock in the evening... This schedule is a daily routine that Qi Guangpu is familiar with since childhood.

In the face of high-intensity training, the young Qi Guangpu showed great self-discipline. Every plan assigned by the coach, he can do well.

Kung Fu pays off. In 2000, 9-year-old Qi Guangpu was selected to the Changchun Freestyle Ski Aerial Skills Team and began to specialize in freestyle skiing aerial skills training.

In the years since then, Qi Guangpu has only spent the Spring Festival at home once. Even in severe cold weather, he insisted on training every day.

It was the solid training that laid the foundation for Qi Guangpu's fame in the First World War.

In the men's aerial skills competition at the 2013 World Freestyle Ski Championships, Qi Guangpu won the championship with 138 points, becoming the first athlete in the world to complete the backward flip three-turn body 1800 degrees. His name began to be known to more people.

In the 2014-15 season, the FIS once said of Qi Guangpu, "If you have questioned who is the king of current aerial skills before, then Qi Guangpu can put an end to this problem." ”

For Qi Guangpu, this evaluation is not exaggerated. Since Qi Guangpu's first freestyle skiing World Cup in 2009, he has won numerous gold medals, including in team competitions.

Impressive results come from hard work. Qi Guangpu's success is no accident.

02 The tough road to the Winter Olympics

Qi Guangpu is known for his high technical difficulty and is known as the "king of difficulty", which is his magic weapon to defeat strong enemies in the game.

However, in this dangerous project, increasing the difficulty means that more attempts need to be experienced in training and competition, and it also means more possibilities for injury.

When he competed in Moscow in 2009, Qi Guangpu had a concussion, which made him deeply appreciate the dangers of the project. But in the game, he will still jump confidently and flash around.

After winning the World Cup and World Championship early, Qi Guangpu was only one Winter Olympic gold medal away from the Grand Slam.

However, this gold medal made Qi Guangpu wait for more than ten years.

At the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Qi Guangpu finished his first Winter Olympic journey with a 7th place.

Four years later, at the Sochi Winter Olympics, Qi Guangpu took the "world's first difficulty" action to the field, but made a mistake and finally ranked 4th.

At the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Qi Guangpu, who ranked first in the first round of the final, made a mistake when landing in the second round and missed the top 6.

The three Olympic Games have passed by the podium, and Qi Guangpu is unwilling to accept such a result.

As a pathfinder who tried the "world's first difficulty", he could only grope a little while lacking the experience of his predecessors.

Qi Guangpu repeatedly watched the game video, watching his own and watching his opponents. Learning from each other's strengths and striving for excellence is what he asks of himself.

After the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Qi Guangpu temporarily withdrew from the national team and returned to campus to continue his studies. "Before I had only training in my life track, this opportunity allowed me to briefly see the scenery on the student track, which is also a kind of self-adjustment." He once described campus life this way.

But the love in his heart made Qi Guangpu return to his beloved team and continue to fight.

03 From "Junior" to "Elder"

In Beijing in 2022, Qi Guangpu once again stood on the winter Olympic field. He grew from a "young Chinese general" when he first competed to a "four-dynasty elder".

every moment of a decade.

Qi Guangpu's enlightenment coach once said that he has been practicing for more than 20 years, and it is not easy to persist until now.

On March 9, 2017, the World Championships of Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding were held in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Spain, where Qi Guangpu trained.

On the evening of February 10, at the Genting Ski Park in Zhangjiakou, the beijing Winter Olympics freestyle skiing aerial skills mixed team final came to an end, and the Chinese team composed of Xu Mengtao, Jia Zongyang and Qi Guangpu won the silver medal with 324.22 points.

In the game, Jia Zongyang, the second appearance of the Chinese team, made a mistake when he completed the action and landed. Faced with great pressure, Qi Guangpu, the last to appear, helped the Chinese team successfully stand on the podium with a set of perfect moves.

When all the dust settled, the three veterans who had passed the age of standing hugged each other tightly. Although the dream did not come true that night, they had already given everything they had.

It is a silver medal with temperature, and its warmth is straight to the heart.

After this, the experienced Qi Guangpu quickly adjusted his form and prepared for the single-player competition.

In the freestyle skiing men's aerial skills qualifier on the evening of the 15th, Qi Guangpu successfully advanced to the final with 127.88 points, which was the highest score among all the players on the day.

It can be seen that Qi Guangpu wants to jump forward and take the gold medal "hanging" at the top into his arms.

This time, his dream finally came true.

Those who bend will believe in the martyrdom, and those who have been prostrate for a long time will fly and decide.

The veteran is not old, but the ambition is still there. (Author Liu Xingchen Hou Qianchen)
