Little Red Bull's 2022 new car AT03 was released, which is a bit like following red bull's footsteps and showing an upgraded display car.
The Faenza-based team hosted a virtual launch for the car, which will be driven by Pierre Gasly and Yuki Kakuda, with the team maintaining the same lineup for the second consecutive season. While the drivers are all the same, the car is definitely not. The design concept of this year's F1 car is completely different from last season's, the sport shifted from airflow to ground effect aerodynamics. The purpose of the new rules is to enable cars to follow each other more closely while reducing overall costs by simplifying design.
On Monday, Red Bull unveiled their understanding of the rules of the new technology. Their livery is in line with traditional navy and white, and one of the most notable features of this car is its aggressive side box solution, which also features square air intakes similar to aston Martin. Like last year's car, the AT03 is also equipped with Red Bull's gearbox, rear suspension and hydraulics.
Team leader Franz Tost said: "I am delighted to show what our 2022 F1 car looks like, it is a whole new era for F1 and we hope that following last year's success, this programme will be very strong. We're working closely with Alpha Tauri again to launch our new car and I think we've managed to deliver something very special. ”
The new car won't be public until next week's first pre-season test in Barcelona, Spain. Last season, Red Bull Jr. finished sixth in the constructors' standings, and the team won a podium at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix by Gasley, one of the star drivers, who even secured his first front-row starting position.
While the car no longer features the Honda brand, it does bear the Honda Racing Corporation logo.
