He could only turn his back on the podium every day, and he said he hoped the national anthem would echo here every day

On February 8, three five-star red flags were raised in one night on the beijing Winter Olympics awards square. This was the most memorable day since Wang Bo, a foreign affairs police officer of the Exit-Entry Management Corps of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, was on duty at the award square. What made him unforgettable was not only the warm atmosphere of the scene, but also the glory of the Beijing police who were able to witness this moment.

That night, there were more people in the awards plaza than usual, and the atmosphere was higher than usual. As a police officer on the scene of safety and security, I was also excited and nervous, and I did not dare to relax in the slightest. Wang Bo recalled.

At 19:45, the Beijing Awards Plaza welcomed the first group of winning athletes from the short track speed skating men's 1000 meters event. The "March of the Volunteer Army" was played in the square, two five-star red flags were raised, and the champion Ren Ziwei and the runner-up Li Wenlong looked at the national flag and sang the national anthem.

At 20:25, the national anthem was played again, and the five-star red flag was raised. The gold medal was won by Gu Ailing of China, the champion of the freestyle ski women's big jump. As a popular player, as soon as Gu Ailing appeared, the audience erupted into warm applause.

When Gu Ailing took the stage, Wang Bo quietly glanced at her from the side, "It is higher than the time I applied for her entry and exit documents a few years ago, and she is still such a little girl who loves to laugh." After just one glance, Wang Bo quickly withdrew his gaze and continued to observe the area in front of him to maintain order at the scene.

Wang Bo also did not expect that he and the "genius girl" would have such a "fate": once he used to face gu Ailing through the entry and exit service window to handle documents for Gu Ailing; now he is facing Gu Ailing's podium to guard her highlight moment.

"Although I can't go back to see the scene when she received the award, and I can't look up at the solemn five-star red flag, when I hear 'Champion!' China Valley Ailing! I clenched my fists in excitement! I hope that in the next few days, she can come here to receive the award more, and I hope that our national anthem will echo here every day! Wang Bo said.

The reporter learned that in all venues of the Winter Olympic Games, Beijing entry and exit police officers are involved in the guarantee work. On average, they master more than two foreign language skills per person, providing services in nearly 10 languages such as English, Russian, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Arabic and other languages for the staff in the venue.

They used their Chinese words to form a bridge, connecting China's broad road to the world; they showed the enthusiasm and tolerance, professionalism and dedication of the Beijing police to the world.
