TA: Arsenal have previously turned down Icardi's deal, which is not the main target

The Athletic reported that Arsenal completed their first trade in the summer transfer window last week, signing U.S. goalkeeper Matt Turner. It is understood that once the summer window opens, Turner will sign a three-year contract with Arsenal. In addition, the Gunners also rejected Icardi's deal.

Following Aubameyang's move to Barca, the Gunners' main focus appears to be on reinforcing the front line, while Lacazette and Nketia's contracts are about to expire. Arsenal reportedly analysed Vlahovich, Isaac and Lewin last month, which are their main targets. Aubameyang has also been spotted by Juve, with reports that Arsenal once considered exchanging him for Morata.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal also have a chance to sign Argentine striker Icadi from Paris. Icardi, who went on loan from Inter Milan to Ligue 1 in 2019 and completed a permanent transfer a year later, has scored 38 goals in 87 games in Paris, but unless one or more kylian Mbappe, Messi and Neymar are unable to play, it will be difficult for him to become a regular starter in Paris.

As with the various possibilities facing Arsenal, there has been no progress in the matter, as Arsenal are clear about the target they will be chasing and if not, then they will stick with their existing personnel until the end of the season. As this was also proven, head coach Arteta hopes to be able to finish the season in the Premier League brilliantly before revisiting the transfer with technical director Edu.
