Before our Lunar New Year, Gordon Murray Automotive unveiled its second supercar, the GMA T.33. The brand was founded by Gordon Murray, the father of McLaren F1. The new car is equipped with a V12 self-priming engine with a speed of more than 10,000 revolutions, and is limited to 100 units.
It was expensive but sold out
The GMA T.33 could be the brand's last supercar to be powered by a pure internal combustion engine. The pre-tax price of the new car reached 1.37 million pounds, which is about 11.68 million yuan after conversion!
The model was produced at the new windlesham plant in the United Kingdom, and limited to 100 units, and was snapped up by the world's richest people less than a week after its debut! The GMA T.33 will begin production in 2023 and deliveries begin in 2024.
A brand founded by the father of McLaren F1
Gordon Murray joined McLaren in 1987 as technical director, after which he and Ron Dennis teamed up to create McLaren's 1st Team and Drivers' Championship for four consecutive years from 1988 to 1991.
He is also the founder of the McLaren F1 and Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR, and is known as the father of The McLaren F1.
Aesthetic design from the 60s
The GMA T.33 strives for lightweight, aerodynamics and performance, and its design greatly reproduces the design aesthetic of the sports car of the 60s!
The retro body silhouette, rounded, large wheel arch shape is full of elegance.
The front LED headlights not only serve as illuminators, they also have a vent to guide the airflow to cool the brake system.
In order to control the weight of the car, the size of the new car is more restrained, the new car length, width and height are 4398/1850/1135mm, the body height is low enough, and the wheelbase is only 2735mm.
The tail shape of the GMA T.33 is also very retro, and the round taillights are very simple. It is equipped with a large diffuser to reduce ground effects and an active spoiler to increase downforce.
The interior only serves the driver
The interior of the new car eliminated all designs that were not related to driving, and there was no central control screen, and the central part was equipped with a mechanical tachometer with a large size.
The LCD meters on both sides can display vehicle information and can also support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interconnection functions.
The body is extremely light
The GMA T.33 has a curb weight of only 1139 kg and a dry weight of only 1090 kg, and is extremely lightweight, with a 75-liter fuel tank and 280 liters of storage space.
The new car is equipped with front six rear four-piston calipers + front 370mm rear 340mm carbon ceramic brake discs. The front 19-inch and rear 20-inch forged alloy wheels are also conducive to lightweighting, and the tires are michelin Pilot Sport 4s high-performance street tires, with tire sizes of 235/35 R19 and rear 295/30 R20.
The T.33 is based on carbon fiber monocoque and iFrame architecture, and the PBLC air system is based on ground effect and has no fans.
The T.33 uses the front and rear double wishbones, and Gordon says its front suspension geometry is new, the rear suspension is also a completely new design, with a traditional spring/damper assembly and anti-roll bar, and the rear suspension is mounted on the transmission housing, which is quite extreme.
10,000 rpm V12 self-priming engine
The powertrain is the heart of the GMA T.33, which is powered by the Cosworth GMA.2 4.0-liter V12 self-priming engine, with 65 degree angles, 14:1 ultra-high compression ratio, dry oil pan, two sets of injectors per cylinder, 48V starter generator and many other cutting-edge technologies.
With a maximum horsepower output of 615 hp/10,500 rpm and a peak torque of 451 Nm/9,000 rpm, this engine has a red line speed of 11,100 rpm, making it a well-deserved 10,000 rpm machine
The engine delivers 75% torque at 2500 rpm and 90% torque in the 4500-10500 rpm range!
The drivetrain features a new 6-speed manual transmission with a single-clutch IGS transmission as an option, and the two transmissions have been developed by xTrac, which Gordon says has the fastest shift speed on the planet.
In addition, the T.33 is priced at a full 1 million pounds cheaper than the T.50, and the GMA spent a huge amount of 28 million pounds to get the T.33 to pass the North American street car certification, so that it can be listed on the road normally, rather than being introduced to the United States as a "display use".
