The 13-year-old is not yet the age of a driver's license in New Zealand, but Hamish Sutherland, who lives in Mission Bay in Auckland, is already the boss herself.
Hamish had a goal of buying himself a "Dream Car."
His dream is related to another business tycoon, Musk.
What Hamish wants to have is the unwinding Tesla Model 2.
It is expected to sell for $35,000, but it is unclear when it will be listed.
However, this does not in any way affect Hamish's enthusiasm and determination to work hard to make money for his goals.
Over the past two years, he's invested all the money he makes on birthdays or working for his neighbors in his stock portfolio. And, the deposit has reached up to $10,000.
He then realized that relying only on birthday red envelopes and odd jobs was not a long-term solution.
Thus, an entrepreneurial idea was born.
In fact, since the age of 9, Hamish has been constantly applying for jobs, but he has always been rejected by his employer because he is too young.
"I really want a job. I want to work, as much as I can. ”
So, he decided to change his mind and take the initiative to do it himself.
He started doing some research and, with the advice and help of his uncle, set up a website.
On the site's homepage, he wrote: "Hi, I'm Hamish, a 13-year-old boy. I am a fully vaccinated, hard-working entrepreneur. I started my business to one day achieve my goal of owning a Tesla. ”
The website also undertakes a wide range of businesses, from mowing and washing cars to cleaning decks and sweeping leaves.
Since starting his business in December, he has become famous in the local area, and residents around Mission Bay are beginning to learn about this little entrepreneurial teenager.
Car washes, windows washes, driveway washes, lawn mowing, weeds are part of Hamish's daily life.
He said he would do almost anything he could.
Hamish says his favorite job is mowing and cleaning the deck.
Because in the process of work, he can watch the customer's garden or deck recover a little bit clean and tidy, which makes him feel very accomplished.
He enjoys the process and enjoys working outdoors.
Hamish's service starts at $17 per hour.
Of course, the greater the workload, the higher the cost.
"It's interesting. So far, I haven't been too busy, so I'd love to let more people know what I'm doing. ”
Hamish's hard work has also received positive feedback from many customers.
"Hamish did a great job and we would definitely book his service again," one user said.
Hamish says that in the near future, he will also explore entrepreneurial forms that offer indoor work.
And bluntly said that his ultimate dream when he grew up is to have a mature enterprise of his own.
The mother, Kristin Sutherland, is very supportive of her son's current job and is fully confident that he will achieve his $35,000 goal.
"He's always had an entrepreneurial spirit," she said.
"He's a very hard-working guy. If he focuses on something, he tends to achieve it. Maybe he'll buy me a Tesla too. ”
Grandmother Di Murphy said: "Our whole family was impressed by his ability to save money. ”
The key to saving money, Hamish says, is simple — working hard.
