Biography
Chai Songyan, female, born in October 1929, is the third master of traditional Chinese medicine, a famous old Chinese medicine doctor, and the chief physician of the Gynecology Department of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has been practicing medicine for about 70 years, is good at treating difficult gynecological diseases, advocating the learning of Western medical knowledge, expanding her horizons, better demonstrating her advantages, and summarizing many experiences and methods of practicing medicine, benefiting many patients.
Since graduating in 1957, Chai Songyan has been engaged in clinical front-line work. She always uses her left hand to diagnose pulses, because her left hand is sensitive to touch and can better grasp the condition. Because of the long-term use of her left hand to diagnose the pulse, her shoulder and back had a serious deformation, and she endured pain every time she went to the clinic. She said, "To help a patient is to help a family." Healing and saving people is the cause of love, the cause of good, and I hope to help more people!"
"Using modern technology, TCM gynecology will expand the vision of the system"
Chai Songyan studied Western medicine with his teacher, which originated in 1952, peking university school of medicine for the whole country to recruit a group of five-year undergraduate students. Chai Songyan, who received the first batch of TCM doctor qualification certificates in New China, was fortunately admitted, and Wu Jieping became her class teacher. Through learning the knowledge of physiology and pathology, Chai Songyan's knowledge of TCM gynecology is clearer, and TCM thinking is more instructive. Chai Songyan said: "In the treatment of female endocrinology, learning Western medical knowledge and using modern technology, Chinese medicine gynecology will expand the vision of the system and better show its advantages." ”
Chai Songyan's trick lies in the integration of Traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, and the use of Chinese medicine concepts on the basis of Western doctors. One patient was diagnosed with infertility by Western medicine and sought medical treatment in many places without success. In her despair, Chai Songyan took the pulse for her and said, "Although your vein is thin and weak, there is still hope." The main problem is that blood loss and amenorrhea are enriched by the method of support, and good roots are cultivated, and there is still vitality. As expected, under the careful conditioning of Chai Songyan, the patient finally became pregnant.
"A good doctor must be willing to be lonely, but not willing to be mediocre." Chai Songyan is committed to overcoming difficult and complicated diseases and has the courage to climb the peak of medicine. She often lamented to her disciples that the modern disease spectrum has changed, gynecological diseases are becoming more and more difficult to treat, and sometimes forty or fifty patients are all difficult diseases. When Chai Songyan encounters complex and incurable diseases, he always takes stress as a challenge, uses pressure to promote learning, and devotes his life to the development of the cause of gynecology in Chinese medicine.
"As long as there is a glimmer of hope, I am willing to do my best to help her"
Chai Songyan has many yellowed case books, which are densely documented with typical or difficult cases she has encountered since practicing medicine.
"As long as there is a glimmer of hope, I am willing to do everything I can to help her." Chai Songyan said. In the 1960s, she received a patient, Ms. Li. Ms. Li gave birth to 20,000 ml of amniotic fluid when she gave birth to her first child, and generally more than 2500 ml of amniotic fluid is too much amniotic fluid. This stumped Chai Songyan. She asked Lu Yechen, an old doctor in internal medicine, for advice, and Lu Yechen reminded her to check the ancient books, and perhaps there would be such a case in them. Chai Songyan flipped through a large number of ancient books and finally found that Poria peel specializes in fetal water. So she added poria skin to the prescription prescribed to the patient to strengthen the spleen and protect the fetus and remove the tire water. Under the conditioning of Chai Songyan, when the patient was in the sixth month of pregnancy, Chai Songyan finally touched the fetal head. Soon, Chai Songyan received a call from the patient to announce the good news. "Dr. Chai, I gave birth and am a healthy girl!"
Some cases have the greatest inspiration for Chai Songyan is the importance of the tongue elephant. Two months after a pregnancy, one patient became angry after a sudden accident and immediately felt unwell and was diagnosed with pregnancy with big breast disease. However, the patient is pregnant, and fertility and fetal protection are current priorities, and surgery is not suitable. Chai Songyan and the experts discussed without a good plan. She looked at the patient's tongue for a long time, and a small detail inspired her— similar to the tongue of the case she had treated. So she treated the symptoms, only a few days after taking the drug, the patient's symptoms alleviated, and then took several doses, and recovered well. After a year of follow-up, the patient gave birth to a baby boy at term.
Chai Songyan pays special attention to tongue diagnosis in the four clinics, emphasizing tongue diagnosis and tongue medication. She began collecting tongues in the 1980s, and she carried a camera with her every visit to collect 3,000 gynecological disease tongues with her students. In Chai Songyan's view, "Traditional Chinese medicine is a clinically applied discipline, and only after the cycle of theory and practice is repeated, there is no shortcut." ”
"To be a good doctor, the most important thing is to learn to be a person first"
"I have given up time in my life, I have not watched a TV series, and sometimes I walk and want to work." I have compiled my life's experience into a book, hoping to do something for the progress of human medicine. Chai Songyan said. The 1 million-word "Chai Songyan Traditional Chinese Medicine Gynecological Essence Series" (a full set of ten volumes) was published, which was widely welcomed by the industry.
After the 1990s, Chai Songyan began to take disciples. Someone curiously asked Chai Songyan, "Do you have any reservations when you bring your apprentice?" Chai Songyan said: "I don't keep it." I took 5 years to realize the truth, and spent 5 minutes to tell them that they would win 5 more years in this life!" She not only taught in the medical path to solve problems, but also often taught her students: "To be a good doctor, the most important thing is to learn to be a person first." ”
Chai Songyan's outpatient time is 8 o'clock, often more than 7 o'clock, early in order to treat some patients with financial difficulties, but also does not affect the number of patients. She is hard to find but has not paid for decades, and often provides free medical treatment for patients. She explained, "The course of treatment for gynecological diseases is relatively long, it is not easy for female comrades, and there is financial pressure to get sick. ”
Since his retirement, Chai Songyan still insists on a thursday consultation. She said: "My feelings and sense of responsibility for TCM are getting stronger and stronger as I get older!"
