Etymological traceability of the "metacosm"

The term "metaverse" was born out of the 1992 science fiction novel Snow Crash by science fiction writer Neal Stevenson. Regarding the metaversity, the more recognized source of thought is a virtual world that is entered and experienced by sensory experiences through brain-computer interfaces, creatively conceived by American mathematician and computer expert Professor Vernor Vinge in his 1981 novel True Names. Meta-universe was not only selected as the 2021 hot word of the Collins Dictionary, the "Top Ten Internet Terms of 2021", and was also selected as the "Top Ten Buzzwords of 2021" of "Bite the Text". Not only did Facebook announce its name to Meta to enter the metaverse, but technology giants such as Microsoft, Tencent, ByteDance, NetEase, and Baidu also competed to lay out metaverse-related industries.
