In the recent hit TV series "Meritorious Service", there is a unit called "Huang Xuhua's Deep Diving", which presents the story of a national meritorious man who has been in anonymity for 30 years and has devoted himself to casting heavy weapons for the country.

With white hair, a smile and kind words, the 97-year-old academician Huang Xuhua still looks refreshed.
As the chief designer of China's first generation of nuclear submarines, the winner of the country's highest science and technology award and the "Order of the Republic", this amiable old man looked down on the external glitz and fame, and "dived" in the sea of life with full of merit.

Shaohua did not stay for the youth, and Huang Xuhua, who originally planned to hang the pot to save the world, saw the devastation of his hometown in the war and wondered why the Chinese people could not live on their own land, but they had to flee everywhere. After that, with full enthusiasm for serving the country, he resolutely decided to abandon the doctor and follow the "boat".
In 1945, he chose to apply for the Shipbuilding Department of the National Jiaotong University, majoring in shipbuilding, thus beginning his road to scientific salvation.

In 1958, Huang Xuhua was secretly summoned to Beijing because of his outstanding professional ability to participate in the development of Nuclear Submarines in China, and gradually grew from an ordinary design and development personnel to the chief designer of nuclear submarines, and contributed his life to the "〇9" project.
At the time, no one in the team even knew what the nuclear submarine looked like, let alone the structure inside. Huang Xuhua and his colleagues "found a needle in a haystack" and took a "magnifying glass" to collect valuable information on the development of nuclear submarines in limited information.
Diplomats brought back two nuclear submarine toy models from abroad, and if they got the treasure, they immediately unloaded eight pieces of the model, measured, recorded, plotted, disassembled and disassembled repeatedly, and repeatedly studied and discussed according to their designs. In the end, drawing on the toy model, Huang Xuhua and his colleagues determined the overall design plan of the "waterdrop line" nuclear submarine.
In the TV series "Meritorious Service" and "Huang Xuhua's Deep Dive", everyone looks at the nuclear submarine simulation toy and studies the design of the nuclear submarine
On the deserted HuluDao island in Bohai Bay, Huang Xuhua and his colleagues began the construction of nuclear submarines. Huang Xuhua recalled that the difficult living conditions can be slowly overcome, but the difficult scientific research conditions are sometimes really powerless. Among the many problems that plagued the designers and builders at that time, the poor calculation conditions made them exhaust all possible methods, sometimes even "soil law".
Every stage of research from scratch is a new challenge, they use slide rules and abacuses to process large amounts of data in the development process, and use scales to weigh parts to calculate the counterweights of components that must be accurate to two decimal places.
To this day, Huang Xuhua still preserves the abacus used in the past, and the deep marks left by the polishing on it are embedded in the time of time, reflecting the hardships of their time. They used this ancient tool and scale weighing method to break through a series of calculation and measurement problems such as the most critical nuclear power device, teardrop line hull, hull structure, and launch device in nuclear submarines.
On December 26, 1970, China's first nuclear submarine was successfully launched.

The key to the formation of combat effectiveness by nuclear submarines lies in extreme deep diving tests. The risk of deep-diving tests is very large, which is not only to test the structural design of nuclear submarines, but also to test the construction quality of nuclear submarines. Therefore, every weld, every pipe and valve must be carefully inspected, and any problem in any place will have irreparable consequences.
The deep diving test process is rigorous and meticulous, starting at 50 meters, then 20 meters, then 10 meters, to 5 meters, 2 meters, and finally 1 meter and 1 meter diving, until the limit depth.
Time passed minute by minute, and as the depth gradually increased, there was seawater seeping in many places in the boat, and the supporting angle steel began to bend and deform. Huang Xuhua encouraged everyone with a calm demeanor and gaze according to the various situations and data reported from each cabin, and although the crew was nervous, they still completed their work in an orderly manner according to the prescribed tasks, insisted on their posts, and the huge hull also approached the limit depth step by step according to the predetermined procedure.
Huang Xuhua always calmly and calmly commanded the deep diving test, recorded various experimental data, judged various situations, and issued various instructions accurately and in a timely manner. At 12:10:52 p.m. on April 29, 1988, the hands pointed to the limit depth, and with a crisp command sound of "stop", the whole boat boiled, and the extreme deep dive was successful! The tight hearts of Huang Xuhua and his colleagues finally let go, their straightened faces began to stretch, and smiles began to pile on everyone's faces.
After the nuclear submarine was stranded at the extreme depth for a period of time, it began to float, and when it floated to about 100 meters, the four responsible persons in the command cabin, Wang Shouren, Huang Xuhua, Wang Daotong, and Wu Tingguo, took a group photo together. Huang Xuhua was not exhausted, just a boat crew let Huang Xuhua mention a few words, he slightly moaned, that is, splashed ink, and wrote down in one go: "Hua Jia Is obsessed with the dragon palace; the waves are terrifying, and there is joy in it." ”
After the "404" submarine deep diving test successfully reached the limit depth, the on-site command personnel showed a smile
At the age of 64, Huang Xuhua, the world's first nuclear submarine chief designer to participate in deep diving tests, dedicated his life to the motherland and to the cause of nuclear submarines he loved. Since then, the Oriental Dragon can truly swim in the deep blue sea, defend the homeland, and shine in China.

In 2014, Huang Xuhua was elected as one of the top ten people who "moved China" in 2013, and the award speech read: "In the era of poverty and whiteness, you stand up with your chest and become the greatest wealth of the country." Huang Xuhua said emotionally at the award ceremony, "I can finally make my work public, I can stand at my father's grave and tell my father that I have come to see you, and I believe that you will also choose to forgive me." ”
When participating in the development of nuclear submarines, the leader put forward requirements to Huang Xuhua: "Strictly guard state secrets at all times, and must not divulge work units and tasks." A lifetime of unsung heroes, anonymous. Since then, Huang Xuhua's figure has disappeared from the public eye, and the contact with his parents and siblings in his hometown has become increasingly rare, and he has not been able to go home to mourn after the death of his father and brother, and he has endured many unspeakable loneliness and pain.
In 1994, Huang Xuhua was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has won the National Science and Technology Progress Special Award, the 2013 "Moving China" Top Ten Figures, the National Moral Model, the "Order of the Republic", the country's highest science and technology award... The state gave the hero almost all the honors.
"The times are full of terrifying waves, you bury your head, willing to be the pillar of silence; in the era of poverty and whiteness, you stand up and become the greatest wealth of the country." Thirty years of prominence and no name, spend a year without abandoning the mission, your life is like a submarine in the deep sea, silent but with infinite power. This is the award speech that touched the Chinese program group to Huang Xuhua, which is a portrayal of his life.
Although he has made great contributions in the development of nuclear submarines, Huang Xuhua has been firmly dismissed by the title of "father of China's nuclear submarines" given by others, believing that this is a collective credit and dedication. "I'm just one of the R&D teams. The successful development of nuclear submarines is the result of the decision-making and leadership of the party Central Committee, the State Council, and the Central Military Commission, and the results of the self-reliance, arduous struggle, and selfless dedication of thousands of scientific research, production, and use units throughout the country. ”
On September 15, 1988, four chief designers of China's first-generation nuclear submarine development project gathered in front of the "406" boat
30 years of incognito, Huang Xuhua, like the vast majority of "obscure" scientific and technological workers in the world, has not changed his original intention for the country and the people. Today, Huang Xuhua, who is over 90 years old, is still in good spirits and walking like a fly, making great efforts and suggestions for the development of a new generation of nuclear submarines in the motherland, and often working tirelessly to run around, running for the development of science and technology, education and development, and talent training, and contributing residual heat.
