No diamonds, no porcelain work. This is an ancient folk craft - curium porcelain. Curium porcelain is the technique of repairing broken porcelain with a metal "curium nail" like a staple. Recently, Huashang Daily-Ersanli Information interviewed a curium porcelain craftsman in Baoji to find out about this ancient craft.

The 69-year-old Sun Baojian is a curium porcelain craftsman, and a pile of residual porcelain has "come back to life" in his hands, becoming a unique work of art. In a basement in a family courtyard on Dongsi Road in Weibin District, is Sun Baojian's studio, which covers an area of less than ten square meters, but is full of objects.
"Curium enamel weighs on curium nails, and the size, shape, etc. of the nails depend on the size of the object to be repaired and the thickness of the tire wall, which is shaped with the object."
Sun Baojian told reporters that most of the curium nails are derived from thin and thick copper plates, and curium porcelain that is done well can break the porcelain and re-round, dripping water.
Sun Baojian is an old craftsman of a large unit, at that time belonged to the best technical "eight-level worker", after retirement, Sun Baojian has no other hobbies, that is, he loves to drink tea, and pays attention to tea art and tea utensils. "Tea utensils are basically porcelain, easy to break, left unusable, thrown away a pity, I thought if I can repair it will not be a pity, slowly began to contact curium porcelain."
Since then, Sun Baojian has concentrated on studying this skill, and when he encounters difficulties, he can ask teachers or peers for advice through the Internet at any time to continuously improve himself. Because of the foundation of the previous craftsman, gradually, piece by piece was repaired in his hands and put back in hand. Sun Baojian kept pace with the times in craftsmanship, engraving, inlaying, decals, coupled with cultural and creative elements in line with modern aesthetics, innovative research on lotus nails, plum blossom nails and other flower nails, one by one injured porcelain, under his hands, dead wood in spring, once again bloomed the charm of art. Through word of mouth from friends, more and more people are looking for Sun Bao to build curium porcelain.
From the Jianzhan of the Song Dynasty, the blue flowers of the Qing Dynasty, the purple sand of the Republic of China period, to the modern daily tea utensils, in the past ten years, the fragmented utensils that have undergone transformation and rebirth, Sun Baojian has countless utensils, he admits that the restored utensils cannot be the same as the original, but the curium utensils have their own unique charm and cannot be copied.
How to use "diamond diamonds" to complete the porcelain repair work? The first step of curium porcelain is to find ballast, sew, and restore the damaged porcelain to its original state and prepare for repair; the second step is to record the positioning point, according to the structure of the porcelain decoration and the position and location of the style tension and convergence, to determine the number and position of the curium nails; the third step is to punch holes and drill holes with diamonds. In the past, people used diamond drilling to drill holes, and now they are all electric drills; the fourth step of curium nails, curium nail production reflects the level of craftsmen, the toughness of curium nails and the level of making curium nails, but also determines the service life of curium repair vessels, but also a major test for curium porcelain people.
Sun Baojian said that when there is a crack, he uses curium nails. There is a piece of porcelain that is gone, and it is necessary to fill the gap. "The mouth of the bag and the engraving are both curium porcelain techniques. Curium work seems to be simple as a hammer, but there are many techniques used in it. ”
Sun Baojian said that with the development of society, everyone's economic conditions are getting better and better, the porcelain bowl can be broken for a new one, and the craft of curium porcelain is slowly disappearing in people's memory. "It is not only about keeping the art but also about passing on the art." As long as there is anyone who is willing to learn, I am willing to teach. ”
Ren Hao is Sun Baojian's apprentice, who has been studying art for more than a year, he said: "The master teaches people has always been devoted to teaching, and I will continue to learn." ”
Sun Baojian said: "I think the restored artifacts are more beautiful after the addition of curium nails. Because curium porcelain is not only about repairing broken artifacts, but also about repairing an emotion. ”
