According to the person in charge of the Municipal Forestry and Bamboo Bureau, the "biological fireproof isolation belt" is to cut down old forest trees in strips, plant non-flammable tree species, use the flammability of some forest plants, build biological fireproof forest belts according to the topography and landform, divide the forest into several areas, implement zoning control, prevent the spread of fire, and form a natural barrier belt. When a forest fire occurs and the fire spreads to the "biological fireproof isolation belt", the fire will reduce the spread rate or even extinguish due to factors such as short trees, sparse density, and non-flammable tree species, giving fire fighting time and reduced difficulty.
The isolation has two characteristics, one is the high fire efficiency. The construction of a "biological fireproof isolation belt" at the edge of the forest can "keep out" the source of fire, and even if it catches fire in the forest, the mountain fire can also be effectively controlled in the isolation belt, which plays a role in fire retardation, fire insulation and fire cutting. Second, the economic benefits are good. For example, Xinyi, as a "biological fireproof isolation belt" tree species, is not only easy to plant and grows faster, but also can be sold as a Chinese herbal medicine.
