At the same time, the President of Lithuania also stressed that the presence of US troops can ensure the security of Eastern Europe, which is also the main target of NATO's operations in recent times, and Lithuania will hold a separate dialogue with the United States to ensure that there are enough American soldiers in Lithuania, which will directly put an end to most potential threats and conflicts and dispel the "desire to attack" of individual countries and forces.
At the end of last year, Lithuania had made a similar claim, hoping that Lithuania would become a U.S. station in Eastern Europe. It's just that the United States didn't respond to this at the time. Obviously, Lithuania is still not satisfied, hoping to get "security assurances" from the United States, so that it can be more unscrupulously active in international issues.
The reason why Lithuania has twice called for a "permanent garrison" of the United States is actually largely because of the threat from Russia. Not long ago, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the current situation has been seriously tense, and some Eastern European countries not only have not eliminated regional frictions, but also continue to create conflicts, which will increase the possibility of military confrontation, once confrontation occurs, then the small countries in Eastern Europe, especially the three Baltic countries, will be destroyed.

The Lithuanian government also understands this truth, so it has always wanted to get "guarantees" from the United States.
