author:Life is a plum

There are many versions of the painting about Suzanne and the Elder, but the story itself is of the same origin, but different painters have different painting methods, different techniques and pictures, but the characters who appear in the painting are the same, namely Suzanne and the two elders. Here is one of Rembrandt's masterpieces, Suzanne and the Elders, one of Rembrandt's masterpieces in 1647.

Rembrandt's famous oil painting "Suzanne and the Elders"

This is a biblical story. Suzanne was beautiful, young and beautiful, married to a merchant, and a devout believer. It is precisely because of her beautiful appearance that she arouses the selfish desires of the elders of the church, and she often spies on Suzanne because of her obsession. One day, Suzanne was taking a bath in her own backyard garden, and the two elders were peeking at it as usual, unable to hide their inflated desires in the process, eager to jump out to commit violence, and wanted to force obedience through language to maintain their fornication. Suzanne, of course, would not give in and try to maintain her virginity. Later, the matter was discovered, and the next day a public trial was held, and the second elder framed Suzanne's lascivious behavior to seduce, so Suzanne was sentenced to death. The Almighty Prophet received the apocalypse in advance, exposed the sins of the Second Elder, returned Suzanne's innocence, and changed the death form of the Second Elder. The original meaning of the story is, of course, to celebrate the words and deeds of the Almighty Prophet who did justice for ordinary people.

The famous painter brought the story to the eyes of the world in the form of oil paintings, focusing on the voyeuristic Second Elder and the bathing Susannah. Standing by the bath, Susannah's expression was not as frightening as the other versions depicted, but she struggled to escape, and one of the elders had no patience to reach out to pull off Susannah's wrapped bath towel, while the other elder was attached to Susannah's ear to persuade and seduce, trying to persuade her to obey.

The artist places the figures in the lower left of the picture in close-up, and through the use of color collocation, especially chiaroscuro, highlights Susanna's figure and clean skin, while emphasizing the fierce confrontation.

In addition to the body art and the storyline, the painting of a body art material makes the oil painting full of history and story connotations, and the picture content is rich and colorful, and it is suddenly active.
