According to the "European Times" Central and Eastern European edition of the WeChat public account "Victoria City" news, recently, Italy Rome Mayor Gualteri signed the "anti-nightlife decree": every weekend from February 4 to March 6, small supermarkets selling food and groceries in the center of Rome must be closed between 22:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. the next day.

The municipality, after a meeting with the Trade Association, the Mayors of Rome's Districts I and II, the Rome Commissioner for Productive Activities and the Governor of Rome, Matteo Piantedosi, decided to implement the above measures in order to address the phenomenon of "bad nightlife" in the city, especially in the Trastevere and San Lorenzo regions of Rome. Gualtieri said the move was aimed at curbing overindulged nightlife in parts of the city's squares and areas by restricting the sale of alcoholic beverages.

In fact, residents of Rome's zones I and II have called for all shops to be closed during midnight, though the proposal has been rejected. At the same time, the city expects businesses to cooperate more to monitor potentially dangerous situations on weekend nights.
