Wang Ao was born in Qingdao in November 1976. Ph.D., Yale University, currently teaches at the School of East Asian Studies at The University of Westerien, USA. He is the author of the poetry collection "Absolute Sentences and Legendary Poems", "Wang Daoshi's Lonely Heart Club", and the translation collection "The Art of Reading Poetry".

A Poem to a Letter

Poems/Wang Ao

I am one with you

When writing down my people

Sent me to myself

Me and my seven brothers

In the mailbox because of a changed agreement

It becomes garbled

Restored today, with that

Promises made years ago, talking about the vast space

Clouds like people who change and then disappear

In the middle of the night let him understand that one man could not

Write the same letter twice, or the same poem

But you can wait for a poem until he becomes himself
