A Russian security guard was bored and scribbled on a famous painting worth 880,000 euros

A security guard at the Yeltsin Center in Yekaterinburg, Russia, when bored, scribbled on a famous painting, causing the 880,000-euro painting to be destroyed.

The British "Guardian" said on the 9th that the incident occurred in December last year, when visitors noticed that in the famous painting "Three Figures" by Anna Lepolskaya exhibited by the center, two people suddenly "grew" a pair of eyes on their faces. Viewers reported it to the museum. After the museum's investigation, it was found that the "culprit" was a security guard who had just come to work at the center. According to the 60-year-old security guard, he felt bored on the first day of work and used a pen to "recreate" the painting.

The damaged famous painting was immediately removed and returned to its owner, the Tretyakov Gallery. The security guard has also been fired and is currently under police investigation. If convicted, the man faces a year in prison. Fortunately, due to the less pressure on the security guards to use their pens, the painting can be restored to its original appearance, and the cost of restoration is about 2800 euros. ▲ (Shōto)
