In reality, some people work all their lives but are poor; some people are idle and have nothing to do, but they live happily ever after.

Wealth and fame. One is fickle, one is eternal. Wealth is for this life, fame is for the afterlife. Profit should prevent jealousy, and the name should be prevented from being forgotten. People crave fortune and sometimes achieve their wishes; fame is earned by hard work. The desire for fame stems from virtue. From ancient times to the present, fame has always been associated with giants, and often people have taken people to two extremes - either to become an abominable devil or to become a brilliant genius.

Fortune and fame. Where the one is fickle the other is enduring. The first for life, the second afterwards; the one against envy, the other against oblivion. Fortune is desired, at times assisted: fame is earned. The desire for fame springs from man’s best part. Fame was and is the sister of the giants; it always goes to extremes--horrible monsters or brilliant prodigies.
