Ukraine is located in the southern part of the Great Plain of Eastern Europe, and has been the place where Mrs. East Ras lived for a long time. In 882 the rus' kingdom in the north moved its capital to Kiev and established the Rurik dynasty. In 989 the "Baptism of Rus" accepted Christianity, and during the reign of Yaroslav in 1036-1054, the Principality of Kiev was a European power. After 1169, the capital was moved to Novgorod in the north, and the area around Kiev was divided and declined.
