Hua Guofeng's start
In February 1921, a family of tanners in Jiaocheng County, Shanxi Province, ushered in a new life destined to set off a storm in the future, he was named Su Zhu, and later changed his name to Hua Guofeng due to the needs of the revolution.
Because of his father's teaching, Hua Guofeng began to care about the future and destiny of the country when he was young, and was determined to be a person who contributed to the country. Therefore, during the period of study, Hua Guofeng also actively participated in the drama movement initiated by teachers and students in Jiaocheng, and learned to make weapons in it, making some basic preparations for later participation in the revolution and joining the armed forces.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in full swing, Hua Guofeng also saw that the country was in danger, and it was difficult to suppress the patriotic feelings in his heart, so he resolutely left the school and threw himself into the anti-Japanese salvation movement.
Participating in the Shanxi Sacrificial National Salvation League's Jiaocheng Anti-Japanese Guerrillas was a firm step taken by Hua Guofeng on the road of revolution, and the experience of joining the Communist Party of China immediately followed him to a more accurate trajectory.
In 1940, appointed by the organization, Hua Guofeng, who was already 19 years old, returned to his hometown of Jiaocheng to work as the secretary of the Jiaocheng County League.
Because he went deep into the masses, actively mobilized the masses, and stimulated the anti-Japanese enthusiasm of the masses, Hua Guofeng made outstanding contributions to strengthening the local anti-Japanese armed forces.

In 1948, because of the need to carry out reconstruction work in the Liberated Areas, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China began to dispatch a group of capable cadres to the south. Hua Guofeng is one of them.
Because between 1948 and 1949, Hua Guofeng achieved excellent performance in reconstruction work, and at the end of 1949, he was directly appointed to the Xiangyin County Committee of the Communist Party of China in Hunan Province. The first major event before him was to solve the problem of land distribution among the peasants in Xiangyin County, Hunan Province.
When conducting field research, Hua Guofeng always went deep among the masses and listened to the opinions of the grass-roots people. Therefore, the land distribution he later made was also recognized by the local people and appreciated by the local government.
At this time, Hua Guofeng also came to Chairman Mao's hometown, Xiangtan County, Hunan Province, as the secretary of the Xiangtan Prefectural Committee, and because of the good achievements in agricultural co-operation in the Xiangtan area, he was praised and affirmed by Chairman Mao, and received a special reception from him.
In the same year, at the Sixth Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Xiangtan, managed by Hua Guofeng, was designated as a typical case for discussion at the meeting.
He was reused and became the premier of the State Council
In the early days of the founding of New China, the country was in ruins waiting to be rebuilt. In the agricultural production that is most related to people's livelihood, Hua Guofeng has paid the greatest attention to it.
Because of the long-term deep-rooted peasants, Hua Guofeng knows very well that the farmers are most concerned about the harvest every year. Therefore, when he was promoted to vice governor of Hunan Province, he began to vigorously develop farmland water conservancy infrastructure, and after taking into account the very serious situation of waterlogging and drought in Hunan, he presided over the construction of large-scale water conservancy projects such as the drainage of Dongting Lake and the Shaoshan Irrigation District.
The successful construction of these projects to benefit the people has led to a certain increase in the output of agricultural production in Hunan.
In addition to these efforts, Hua Guofeng also paid attention to the "hybrid rice" that was generally not optimistic at that time. At the Second Agricultural Exchange Conference of Hunan Province in 1970, Hua Guofeng listened carefully to Yuan Longping's report on the research of hybrid rice, affirmed his research results, and showed his support attitude.
This also allowed the then-stalled research on "hybrid rice" to continue. This led to the amazing yield of hybrid rice, the Chinese people also got rid of the food crisis.
When he was in Hunan, Hua Guofeng was also affected by his blunt words, but fortunately, with the protection of Premier Zhou, he would not fall victim to the times. It is precisely because he is sitting in Hunan that Hunan's agricultural, economic, cultural and educational work can also achieve remarkable results during that period.
In the 1970s, after the political situation gradually stabilized, Hua Guofeng also entered the central government under the coordination of Premier Zhou. At first, Hua Guofeng was mainly responsible for formulating agricultural development policies that conformed to China's actual conditions, but when Premier Zhou Enlai's illness was repeated, Hua Guofeng began to follow Premier Zhou and assist him in handling the relevant work of the State Council.
Hua Guofeng's excellent work ability and firm political belief made Chairman Mao have a strong good feeling for him and a lot of trust in him. Therefore, when Premier Zhou Enlai died of illness and the position of premier of the State Council became vacant, Hua Guofeng was personally nominated by Chairman Mao and approved by the Politburo of the Central Committee and became the new premier of the State Council.
After Chairman Mao's death, Hua Guofeng, at the suggestion of Deng Xiaoping and with the support of Ye Jianying, Li Xiannian and others, completely smashed the conspiracy of the reactionary forces.

Retire low-key and don't talk about politics
Hua Guofeng became premier of the State Council in 1976. But by 1980, he voluntarily resigned from the post and quickly withdrew from politics, ushering in a low-key retirement.
