Lingnan spring comes early. At the construction site of the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project, a major national water conservancy project, dozens of domestic large-scale shield machines are accelerating their excavation. "At present, we have passed the halfway project, and have penetrated more than 10 sections of water transmission tunnels, and strive to achieve early water supply by the end of 2023." Du Canyang, head of project construction, introduced that the total investment of the project is 35.399 billion yuan, and the design annual water supply is 1.708 billion cubic meters, which will effectively "quench the thirst" of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Dam after dam stretches across rivers, pipeline after pipe climbs over the mountains, reservoir after reservoir collects mountains and water... A number of basic, pivotal, and strategic major water conservancy projects have risen from the ground, and the construction of the national water network has been accelerated. According to data from the Ministry of Water Resources, as of now, of the 172 major water conservancy projects that began to be implemented in 2014, a total of 149 have been started, 49 have been completed, and 19 have been completed and accepted. At the same time, the construction of 150 major water conservancy projects in 2020 and subsequently determined by the State Council is also accelerating, and 67 projects have been approved and 62 projects have been started. Up to now, the scale of investment in major water conservancy projects under construction on the mainland has exceeded one trillion yuan.

It is reported that at present, the mainland has built the world's largest, most extensive and most beneficial water conservancy infrastructure system. The Ministry of Water Resources proposed that this year it will implement major projects of the national water network to enhance the overall allocation capacity of water resources, water supply guarantee and strategic reserve capacity of the mainland.
